Re: Live Game - Incorporating reads

Gotta bet it. I play live only and I cannot count the number times weak tights will check around when the third of a suit drops on the river. The weak tighties fear a checkraise. And if they...

Re: Anyone get a real gross feeling while they\'re in a casino?

Your time at the tables in Commerce has given you brown (*hit) colored glasses with which to view your world, Shant. However, please keep in mind that we NEED those "ugly degenerates" as our future...

Deranged is the winner as usual

The decision to bet out or raise is a decision that LOOKS FORWARD to the bets that should come in from that action. The decision to call LOOKS BACK at pot odds on whether to call or cold call. ...

Re: Is it OK to cold call in this situation?

I'll expand on what some people have implied - raise to isolate or fold appears to be the concensus opinion. Part of that is paying attention NOT to the maniac raiser, but to the limpers. THEY ARE...

Armed Old Man Bandit update

Paid my first visit to Commerce since this story came out about the "alleged" bank robber being arrested in the casino. I asked every dealer what he or she knew about the guy. Here are some quotes...

Re: New restrooms at Commerce

1) This is FAR more information about the guys who play at Commerence than I need or want to think about.
2) What does it say about us when news of a new bathroom in a casino generates about 50...

There was no picture of him in the Daily News.

Re: JJ

I suggest Jason, that you see the world through the eyes of a good player. If everyone sitting at this table was your quality of player, your advice would be right on. However, since we have no...

Did you sit next to this guy at Commerce?

I read my SF Valley Daily News this AM to find a front page article on capture of Old Man bandit, who might also be the Fedora bandit. A Mr. Sykes, aged 57 or so was arrested AT THE COMMERCE CASINO...

Re: Probably know the answer but ... (help needed)

and for the boredom factor, stay at the same limit or lower, but play stud or Omaha for a session or two. If you play live, go online, if you play online, go B&M. I've found that switching games is...

Some questions

No reads on players, especially those behind you? What is your table image? How long have you played at this table and how have you been running?

If my image was new or good, I raise to test...

Re: 3/6---9 fish table......don\'t sit down?

Please, gotta play - every time. I keep written notes of my live game play every session and one of my rating scales is # of fish. I recently had a session at a tough table with good players but I...

Let\'s talk practical Xmas gifts, not once in a lifetime longshots

I love Beachman42's play of 76o in the BB as the wheel buster. Stealth bomb baby, but not so much of a long shot as some of the posted Xmas hopes and dreams. I was looking for this "practical" list...

The right question

Basic SSHE says that when a bet comes from your immediate right you, in general, you should either raise or fold. Calling this hand does not look to be right under any circumstances. A raise is the...

Re: 99 with limpers.

I share your concern about raising 99. I am working on playing more aggressively and now consistently raise TT, but by the book, 99 and 88 are "situational" raises that it looks like you should have...

I'd like to develop a list of plays or situations posters love to see. What is your favorite situation where you just lick your chops and want to see the cards roll? Please stay away from the...

Re: Another JT hand. OESD on rb flop

I think I would still bet it. If my bet causes MP2 to fold, I am now the Button and if not, I am still are in good position to react to the turn card and the action or lack thereof in front of me. ...

Re: ruined by the river

Is he the type to bet at you with nothing if you check because you showed some weakness? If so, will you call if he bets? I played JJ live yesterday in 2/4 in the SB, raising, and wound up facing 3...

Re: AKo - made trips on river, facing raise.

WA/WB. Did Button slow play a Q on the turn after making his straight because of 2 spades board? Also, hand would have played differently had you bet the flop even with its connections. Pairing...

Re: Another JT hand. OESD on rb flop

Gotta bet it. You have the high end of the OESD and a backdoor flush draw and what may be two overcards since no one is showing an interest in betting a king.

How much credit do you give your opponent?

That can be a hard question with difficult boards. I played JJ live yesterday 2/4 and raised out of the SB. Got 4 callers. Flop was KQx. Ouch. I bet out and get ready to fold to a raise. 4...

Don\'t hate-evaluate

Generic hatred of KTo? You made no mention of your position or who you are playing against. I find KTo to be very playable against typical LAP tables, particularly from later positions. Since I...

Re: Set of aces

Because it is a cap bet - it's a coin flip on a set amount. In my live game, HU, with NO cap, I would just call. That AK hearts rings true to me. Just because someone calls down a lot down not...

Re: Folding AA (Full Tilt 3/6)

Since your weren't 3 bet on your PF raise - you had no way to put Button on the other AA or anything close. You folded to the cold call on a connected high card board after the turn.

Looks...

Re: You are the closest JoJo

Simple reality. If I bet - he folds. He does NOT call. Wish he would, but remember my opening line - he was not stupid.
