Re: Autorating in Poker Tracker

I've been using the same autorate rules (Bison's) long enough that the icons mean numbers to me. Like Felipe said, a visual mnemonic.

I do use GT+, in icon-only mode. Numbers all over the table...

Re: Autorating in Poker Tracker

Buried down in Bison's original "Notes on Notes" thread is a link to a guy who hosts a downloadable file of autorate rules importable into PT. Just checked, and its still there.

Download for...

Generally don't concern yourself with boats unless the board is already double-paired.

Only the J/images/graemlins/heart.gif double-pairs the board since the 7 and 2 are already on...

Re: PT auto-import HH without POP3

I assume you're talking about sites other than Party/skins and Stars? Because they drop the hand histories right on your computer.

IMAP is a better protocol than POP. But almost everything that...

Re: Top Pair Medium Kicker

Not sure how you figure 6 outs on the turn. 2 Q's (1 tainted), 3 9's (1 tainted). So 5 at best, discounted to ~4. If you are behind you don't have odds to call. The bet when the A hits the board...

I believe there is a wave of replying to the original post without reading the full thread thanks to grunch. What influence.

Re: The converter\'s going open source once I figure out what that means.

You probably want to go with the GPL (http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html) since you don't want anyone to profit off of your work.

Re: Junk hand from big blind catches weak top pair

Too late to edit, but my post above was specifically commenting on the turn action. I didn't make that at all clear in my post.

Re: raises making the correct odds to call??.

I think you should have raised the flop.

You have a great hand with your OESD, two overcards, and a backdoor flush draw. Unless you have a read that SB would pump a flush draw or straight draw,...

Re: Junk hand from big blind catches weak top pair

The pot is small. True, half of it you've invested, and being heads-up half of it is your fair share. But with no dead money going into the pot, its not getting any bigger. You have a weak...

Feeling like I should just give up. (Low Content)

I've played over 30,000 hands now, and I have nothing to show for it.

Between last night and today, I've lost everything I made in the last two weeks and more. And those two weeks were grinding...

What do you think of folding the river unimproved if you don't raise the turn? (I cry and call if it's been capped.)

Re: Hand Help

I think case could be made for 3-betting the turn, even though MP2 dropped out.

10 outs to a boat or better = 22%. There needs be at least a 30%+ chance that CO raised with a hand we beat: any...

Re: A preflop decision that I didn\'t know how to deal with

I don't bet the river, but not necessarily because of the flush draw.

The preflop raiser is still around. He either has unimproved overcards and will fold, or a better pocket pair and won't.

Re: A preflop decision that I didn\'t know how to deal with

Since the raise came from your immediate right, and therefore there are no callers between you, you are correct that this is a raise or fold situation - cold calling here would be bad.

3-betting...

Re: Top two pair runs into resistance

I think here it's an issue of the aggressiveness of the table. Small suited kings are playable from late position with lots of limpers in a loose and passive game. This game doesn't sound passive...

Knowing that you have the nuts (straight + flush draw), I'd smooth call the flop (slowplay), hoping the BB will bet into you again on the turn and hopefully the river, earning you at least...

Isolating with 77

Villian played half his hands, seemed to raise preflop with most pocket pairs and suited paint. I figured my 77 to be a favorite against anything he would only limp with. Postflop, villian liked to...

Re: overcard situation that ive been having trouble with... what do?

One thing I've been trying to force myself to do after raising pre-flop with overcards and whiffing the flop with lots of callers is:

"Okay, what are my redraws?"
