Re: Donked every street w/ flopped flush draw, turned flush

Wow... just finished reading this thread, got my first hand and picked up pretty much the same hand (flush draw off flop with middle pair). Won due to folds because of my aggression, which would not...

Betting out against no aggression

Here's something that's been coming up quite a bit for me lately, not really sure how I should be playing it.

Assume no reads.

When I hit the flop decently (either middle pair with high kicker,...

Re: .05/.10 Tables...

Crazy Poker has a lot of them, right now (noon MST) there's 8 mostly full .05/0.10 tables, can always find a game. For 0.10/0.20 there's less, but lots of .25/.5 again.

They have the $10 free...

Re: advice

Man, I'm sure the amount of action Sklansky has gotten because of his books (due to the increase in popularity because of them) has been enough to make it worthwhile even without the amount he's made...

Get yourself the preflop chart from SSH, follow it exactly until you know why you're deviating.

Re: How does the variance of Limit HE Compare to No-limit HE?

I know that my variance in NL is huge compared to limit, since I'm definitely not an expert and my poor plays cause much huger losses. I think for limit the general recommendation is 200-300 BB, as...

Re: fundamental style/strategy differences between tourney\'s & ring

I'm assuming you're talking NL play, if not then this may not apply. Either way, I'm much better at ring games than tournaments, but wouldn't want to play against most of the people on this board in...

Re: How would you play if you saw everyone\'s hole cards?

Yeah, I think that no matter what you do in this situation you should be +EV. Assuming that you are able to exploit sneaky hands for a decent amount of money, you should be able to get in cheaply for...

Re: How would you play if you saw everyone\'s hole cards?

I dunno, I'd say that comes pretty damn close to godhood. You could never be bluffed, would know when you're way behind, could steal blinds like crazy...

Also, I don't see how you wouldn't have...

Re: I think we\'re getting a little bit too focused on folding.

Thanks a lot for this post, I couldn't agree more. Reread Ed Miller's post yesterday, then came on and was wondering what changed recently. I've been staying in big pots much more often and noticing...

Re: How to learn Hold\'em

The things that have helped me lately (note : I'm still at 0.1/0.2, have only played 1500 hands, but have hit a number of identifiable "wow I understand this now" points recently).

1 : Buy in to...

Re: Poker players and society

Just to counter all the "winning players don't contribute, fish do" arguments :

Any money you make in poker is going to end up somewhere else, generally close to home. If I make $50 at poker...

Re: Best site for micro limit play?

Oh guaranteed I'm gonna get slapped sometime soon, but my PT stats seem fine right now (I'm a smiley face). I think I'm playing a bit loose and too aggressive after the flop for marginal hands, just...

Re: Best site for micro limit play?

I'm totally loving Crazy Poker right now.
Turned the free $10 they gave me into $77.78 on 0.10/0.20 over 1857 hands, sitting at 18.25 BB/100 right now. I'm learning the meaning of fish (all streets...

Re: big loser will do anything

Go losers!

I was definitely losing at .25/.50 at party last time I tried. Playing at Crazy Poker with the free $10 they give you for signing up, and am back up to winning or at least breaking...

Man, this sounds exactly like how I used to be (probably am still, hopefully less so though).

I found that even though I had the bankroll for the limits I was playing, I wasn't comfortable...

Re: Two of my problems

Play some cheap NL SnGs. I blew about $20 playing $1 and $2 tournaments, and spent a couple days reading through the SnG board. You get tons of hands, and it's a lot of fun. I found it really...

Re: Down about 200BB within past week - is this why?

*Grunch*
I don't see anything wrong with the way you played those hands. Seems like you'll be best most of the time.

Re: Hmmmm, KK

*Grunch*
Looks like what I'd be doing, can't imagine someone would stay in that hand with a 9 preflop, and AA is a possibility but I'd bet that they aren't giving you credit for KK. There's really...

Re: What do you do and why? (Grunch please)

I think I would probably just limp in this, wait until the flop to start betting depending on how the cards lie. Might raise, depending on the players and how I'm playing.

Re: Playalong with AKo (I WANT EVERY ONE OF YOU TO GRUNCH THIS)

I'd bet out, since my application of the check raise has been backfiring way too much lately. Also, with 2 people in for a capped preflop I think they'd be staying in with a lot of different hands,...

Re: Short hand SNGs on pacific...

Been playing some super low limit 5 player SNGs on Crazy Poker (.75 + .25), and the 3rd place payout is .75, 2nd 1.18, 1st 1.87.
They go by super quick, and it's pretty easy so far to get in 3rd...
