Re: Anyone intentionally lose/break even at home games?

When I win I suggest stupid fun drinking/gambling games. Things like Guts, midnight baseball, 7 stud with multiple wild cards, craps.

My problem is I live in a small town with very few games, but...

Re: Question for those in favor of making guns illegal

In my opinion, gun ownership protects against forms of oppression more latent that an outright hostile takeover by the government.

The Bill of Rights was written against a backdrop of...

Bad Beat

I hadn't had a "bad beat" in 9 weeks. Tonight, I had two. It is time to celebrate.

Over the past weeks my aces held up, my flushes did not lose to full houses or whatever else people complain...

Re: So if I don\'t pay my taxes...then what??

As a tax attorney and a poker player, I had a thoughtful response. However, this all became silly political unfounded (dumb ass) talk.

I have an idea- keep the political talk to the "politics"...

Re: poker in pittsburgh area

I wasn't sure of the details on the casinos. All I really knew was that Bettis was caught up in some "scandal" because his business partner applied for a license or something like that. Thanks for...

Re: Annie Duke Article

I was asking because I didn't want to be too short stacked for the game. When I had a bankroll I would always play $10-20. Now that I only play semi-regularly, I am wondering how many BBs = not short...

Re: poker in pittsburgh area

You're a little too early for a B & M game. Pittsburgh just recently has approved casinos. I live in the area and can let you know if there are any house games going if you'd be comfortable with...

Re: Annie Duke Article

I appreciate the advice so far. My point in asking is that I no longer have a bankroll because I no longer play regularly. The "real world" doesn't adjust for playing poker at all hours of the night....

Re: Handling that first truely awful downswing...

I took a pounding a few months ago. I think taking a few days off is important because it lets you get that knot out of your stomach. Once I felt better about I re-read some books and looked closely...

How many BBs for a night of playing

I've gone from playing daily to just playing occasionally when I visit a city with a cardroom. I typically have a set sum (which varies) that I am willing to play with.

In order to pick the limit...

I'm too ashamed of my new weak-tight style of play to unmask myself.

Re: Irrational People and Thoughts

Al- I can't wait for the book. One of the things that I've found appealing about poker is the lessons you can learn that apply to life. Poker punishes those who make small mistakes, so I've learned...

Re: What is the philosophy of the Democratic Party?

Night Court got closed down and turned into some wannabe fancy no jeans type club (which has already gone out of business- go figure).

I considered alot of my OU experiences in Muni Court to be...

Re: What is the philosophy of the Democratic Party?

I graduated OU in 2000. Sorry to say I never took any Econ classes. I spent most of my time there at the Night Court and/or in Athens Muni Court.

Re: What is the philosophy of the Democratic Party?

I've been wondering this myself... I voted for Kerry in the primaries, and by August could not understand why. I ended up voting for Bush in the general election.

So I wonder the same question...

Almost every time that I have been at a Casino my brother (who taught me how to play for the most part) is at the table with me. Personally, we think it is more fun to take each other's money.

Re: OHIO--Mybe not over?

The projected Bush margin in Ohio is at least 200,000, the projected # of provisional ballots is anywhere from 120,000 - 140,000 (100,000 in 2000).

Long story short- Kerry would have to get about...

you forgot an outcome- remanded, where the Court sends the case down to the lower court for that lower court to follow specific instructions.

I only correct you here because you seem to care about...
