Re: AA Hand

People do this with AJ type hands. I wouldn't be surprised if this were KJs or some other pair/flush/straight combo. What do you think he would call the flop with but not push? I think he has to...

Re: AA Hand

What I would have done (not that that means anything in terms of correctness) is pop the flop to $200 even. If he pushes I fold. If he calls, I push a nice turn card, for example:...

I haven't been in a few weeks, and now I'm sorry I've been neglecting poor LC.
I'm actually in Berkeley too. What are you doing here? Do all you bay-ers every have a home...

Re: Skill level in Supers compared to smaller buyins?

I'm mostly a cash game player at the 2/4ish level, but have killed Pearl a few times at Paradise so I took a stab at my first super last Monday and came 35th. And I think I only sucked out once. ...

Re: Question for the LAGs

Last night I played a short (400 hand, 6max 2/4) session and was 34/22. And no, I was never limping.

Question for the LAGs

I've slowly made the conversion to (what I feel is) LAG play over the past 4 months or so. I think me and LAG are a good match. However, I have two questions. One, simple, is what do the VP$P and...

2/4, J8s trips on flop, my plan fails

I have been playing LAG and getting a lot of respect. Most pots I raise I get one caller and take it down on flop with a pot-bet. I had a big stack two hands ago.

MP is 30/12ish. When he raised...

Re: JJ woes. Two 3/6 hands I surely need help with.

I feel like if you are not going to play these to the felt on HU flops like these, you shouldn't be raising them preflop. I don't think its bad to check in the BB w/ JJ with this many limpers. If...

Sounds like you hit it on a weekend? WAHO is a regular, often times the only fish on the weeknights.

Re: I don\'t care if you scare me (2/3/5/10 hand)

OK I understand what you two are saying. Against these players I would take the passive route without a set. Against weaker players I certainly would have fired out again had I found myself setless...

Stacks are too small for this to be a good play IMO.

More importantly what is your standard play when you raise your small PPs and suited connectors, get 3-4 callers and miss? Not sure if this is +EV strategy with a $500 stack.

Fold PF.

[/ QUOTE ]

Really? This $15 open could be anything (any pair, suited connector, two broadways, anything). I never fold here. I can get away from TP if I need to.

What are you trying to accomplish with that PF raise? Nobody is folding for $25 more. Just trying to sweeten the pot?

I often gentle raise small pp's and drawing hands...

Stack him together (2/3/5/10 hand)

2/3/5 10 to open $500 max buy-in.

Same game as the other hand, a few hands later.

CO (350) is UTG+1 from other hand.
SB (1000) is unknown, seems easy to read and straightforward.
BB (Me 500)...

I don\'t care if you scare me (2/3/5/10 hand)

2/3/5 10 to open $500 max buy-in.

The game is very tough and I should leave but I'm stubborn and want to beat it anyway.

UTG+1 (250) tricky gambling regular. Likes to sit short and push a...

Re: Difficult AQ hand...maybe?

Ok, read it once more. So are you saying you should be planning on raising proportionally to the stack sizes, not necessarily the BB pf (if it looks like it will be HU)?

Say AZK had ATd in this...

IHC,
Thank you for elaborating. I found the first paragraph very helpful, but after reading the second one over and over I'm still unsure what the conclusion is. Could you clarify the made-hand...
