Re: OT- I have a confession to make

I just started playing again after a 3 month break. Had a [censored] load of work to do this semester...

Feels nice to be back at the tables though. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: \"solid\" players have NO concept of bubble play

[ QUOTE ]
what do you suggest we shove here?

[/ QUOTE ]

You missed the point - I'm suggesting you DON'T shove ~19 BBs against a loose calling range.

You have to understand that most of...

Re: Losing the little pots...($22)

I'm not sure what you're hoping to accomplish by betting the turn. You will only be called by someone who has you beat, so the play has basically the same value as a bluff. Since in this case (unlike...

Re: JJ hand at 50/100 - $55s

I'd say MP has a fairly wide range here, and you're only behind 3 of those hands. With the dead money in the pot, you have an easy call.

Re: \"solid\" players have NO concept of bubble play

I agree, this is a bad push.

This is NOT proper bubble play - not at the the 22s. People just can't lay down hands at this level. If you do an ICM analysis of this and similar situations...

Re: $33 Party JJ LP

Care to explain?

I'd be happy to pick up t120 at this point without having guess where I am when an overcard or two flops against two other players.

I'm not saying a flat call is bad, but...

Re: $33 Party JJ LP

There's already about 1/6 of your stack in the pot when the action gets around to you preflop. If you just call, you give the BB great odds to see a flop, so it's likely going to be 3 way action. I'd...

Re: What\'s your move? $55

Folding here would be very bad. The 55s still have plenty of donks, and given the amount you've already committed to the pot, you have to call.

Re: Donking it up with JJ (55s)

You played this one too passively, IMO. You have JJ with 5 other players left in the hand... why are you playing it for set value? Raise it up!

On the flop, you can't flat call such a weak bet...

Re: Skipping the 22\'s?

The 33s are noticably harder than the 22s, and a lot harder than the 11s. I agree with the other posters - try the 22s for a while and see how you do first.

Re: how much will learning ICM help?

[ QUOTE ]
it is pretty much all math.

If you realize this, then I'd say the answer to your question is pretty obvious.

You have AK and <10x BB. Push anyway.

Re: Party NL 11: How likely will he fold to rr all-in?

Even against a reasonable player, your FE in this situation would be very close to zero. From your description of this guy, I'd say it's definately zero.

But you really haven't attempted to engage in any debate about my main point, which was avoiding expensive coinflips early in tournaments.

Re: $55: Mystified. Do donks still do this in the 55\'s?

Yeah, I agree, that's why I included it in the range. JJ and AK are the two most likely hands that hero will be shown, IMO.

Re: $55: Mystified. Do donks still do this in the 55\'s?

Hero's stack size is not an important factor here. 800 chips is plenty to work with, and can't justify making a bad call. If you think a call is -EV, why on earth would you call just because you...

Re: $55: Mystified. Do donks still do this in the 55\'s?

I have to agree. I'm not giving the guy credit for a big pair unless I have an unusual read that indicates otherwise. Very few players will play AA or KK this way. I think the most likely hand for...

Re: $55: Mystified. Do donks still do this in the 55\'s?

So you'd fold AK here with dead money in the pot and 58% equity against the range you have him on? Just checking...
