calling the flush draw
Here is a simple question. What are your rules for calling or raising on a flush draw in NL poker? I'm just asking that cause I'm really interested to know how people think.

Re: Did I miss value ? Or call too easily ?
Get your money in there ASAP!!! A set with 6 players is pretty good, the board willing.
If you don't have the guts to get your money in there you should switch to limit

Re: Another hand for analysis.
I agree, nice play, I think that I would of done the same thing. By pushing here you protect the hand and you win a ok pot size.

Re: NL Betting
I agree PokerFink with what you are saying but when you start out in NL its always (in my opinion) to lead and actually control what is happening. Less chances of going broke. To understand the power...

without a read its kinda hard to know. He might of thought that you were putting the move on him and trying to steal his blinds and called you with anything. My guess is that he...

Yep. Check behind on flop. Call turn. Check or fold river unless you hit your flush.

Re: NL Betting
other considerations are also what players you are up against.
example. if you get AA in the hole in early position and you know that the table is very loose, then you might want to bring it in for...

Re: Flopped Straight - How to play? (some results)
yep I meant raise on the flop. you had the lead and you would of know where you stood. that was the biggest mistake I think that you did. Then when the turn shoed up an other spade thats when your...

Re: Flopped Straight - How to play?
Raise, raise, raise and raise. stop following other people lead in a hand cause you have a vulnerable hand. someone with a 8-J has you beat, and on the turn someone chasing the flush has you beat. By...

Re: Comments?
first things first. raising min preflop UTG??? it doesn't serve any purpose, and don't tell me it was to build a pot because before the flop came down, you didn't have a hand to win a pot with. When...

Re: Results and Thoughts
You have to also take one thing into account, TT is something like 50%+ vulnerable to overcards preflop, which means that a bit more than half the time overcards will come up on the flop which will...

I personally don't think that you have the best hand here, I think that the other has maybe AQ. QQ in my opinion would of maybe gotten reraised preflop (depending on the player) and he could of...

I don't think that there is much that you can do in that situation. I personally hate AJ-AQ because it is very hard to know where you are in the hand. One of the big thing that I found playing that...

Re: Pushing too hard with JJ?
I think that maybe you took it a bit too far with JJ. that hand is really not a hand that you want to reraise with because it is 50% vulnerable to over cards on the flop. I think that the only time...
