Re: River play

[ QUOTE ]
But the pot is laying me near 20:1 and I'm closing the action, I'd have to be crazy to fold here wouldn't I?

Re: Got Fillmaff\'d? Post it in here! (Designated NC Thread, Episode

I can understand people chasing their OESD, Lord knows I've done it myself.

Re: AQ Question

You should have raised the flop. You said yourself that MP often bets with nothing, you have something so you should punish him for it.

Re: Playing well with horrible results..?

[ QUOTE ]

Most people use "fish" do describe a loose and passive player.

Point taken. I'm sure my opinions will be refined as I move up in limits. At the laughably small limits...

Re: Playing well with horrible results..?

The players were mostly tight, with the very notable exception of a maniac three places to the left of me. He played 85% of his hands, raising with 13%.

Re: Irritating ace rag situations

Fold preflop.

On this flop, bet and fold to a raise. If called, check/fold the turn UI.

With this hand in the SB you're really hoping to hit 2 pair or trips, you really can't expect top pair to...

Re: SSH Flop Quiz #16 -- AJs

[ QUOTE ]
The only problem I have with this is that 1.5 of our outs (the BDFD) depend on a good turn card. Our equity changes significantly if a blank falls on the turn.

(I also know that the chart isn't meant to be used as hard fast rules and you should learn to play hands based on their indivudual value taking your opponents into consideration.)

Maybe bad thinking on my part, I don't know. I keep thinking about the advice I've seen in Sklansky and Miller's material about how it is a "catastrophe" when you fold a winning hand in a...

Re: 0.05 vs 0.10 games

Who has .10/.20 games?

You want to wait until you have 600 BB to move up? Why?

Bad cards happen. You just have to wait it out, you'll get your share of good starting hands eventually. I know...

Re: Big blind crap turns into two pair

Grunching...

Raise the flop! You probably have the best hand, get the money in now while you're ahead. Just calling gives everyone a chance to draw out on you, which appears to be what happened.

Re: Bottom set... too aggresive?

SSHE says to cold call this on a loose table. And after the first cold call I had to call the cap, although I wasn't happy about it.

I felt funny all during this hand... got sucked into capping pre-flop, then hit my set.

Re: Call this river?(LC)

Forget the river, will someone please explain to me, Noob that I am, why we are raising this flop?

Is it because UTG's 3-bet gives us valuable information that we wouldn't have if we just called?

Re: Anything good here with 66 in SB?

Grunching...

Bet that flop! You almost certainly have the best hand right now, make them pay to see the next card. Get the money in the middle while you are ahead.
