Re: At wit\'s end

Oh for the days when people knew how to read.

I implied that my bankroll was $900 because I said I had $600 in poker WINNINGS left?

"You played two hands and lost them both. Obviously poker is...

Re: At wit\'s end

Dear Sarcastic Morons,

Next time, try reading the post before you flame the poster.

Where does it say that my bankroll is $900? Where does it say that I'm currently following the weak-tight...

At wit\'s end

My last two Live 1/2 NL sessions were bad, very bad. I decided to start playing online and suffered bad beat after bad beat. After two months away from live poker, I decided it was time to get back...

On Golden Pond, but no catch

Absolute Poker, .10/.20 LHE, 6-Max

At a table full of fish last night, but made only a small profit. They played every hand, called every bet all the way to the showdown. Sounds like a dream,...

Re: Near the end of my brief Online career -Whine

3CardMonty,

I ran into those European maniacs today and boy were you right. I have AA UTG and bet out. The button caps the preflop action with A2 offsuit. Do you know how I know what he had? ...

Re: Near the end of my brief Online career -Whine

I have noticed the Europeans, and Asians but haven't yet run into the maniacs you describe. I found that at the .10/.20 tables the players are a lot more loose/passive, so you can collect on your...

Regarding the small BR:

This is the way I approach every venture in life. Start small and test the waters, then increase the investment if it shows promise. This may not be the correct approach...

Re: Near the end of my brief Online career -Whine

Update:

I dropped down to .10/.20 because that's all my BR can take now. The Poker gods have had a nice joke with me. Last night my luck turned around I had a 50BB profit. The joke is that at...

Re: Near the end of my brief Online career -Whine

Fair comments and I appreciate them. I'm around 10k hands.

Don't understand the Weak-Tight comment though. Were you referring to my not slow-playing sets? Every book I've read says that's a bad...

Re: Near the end of my brief Online career -Whine

I understand that $295 is a relatively small bankroll, but I think it's enough for me to see that this won't work out at all. Even if I was a total fish, I should be able to win once in a while. I...

Near the end of my brief Online career -Whine

I've been playing online (Absolute) for about a month. I deposited $95 and was basically able to play break-even (1/2 Limit) to earn my $180 bonus. Had the account up to $285 and now after a brutal...

Re: i think bad flops are the most painful

I've been playing live for 2 years and just started playing online a few weeks ago. I just finished a second straight brutal day. I've playing 1/2 Limit on Absolute, where the tables seem to be...

I just opened my first Internet account 2 weeks ago, and it was at Absolute. I'm half way thru clearing my $190 bonus and they changed the min raked hand criteria (for bonus clearing) from $.25 to...

Re: why is limping so bad?

I have a similar question about limping. I'm a live limit player who has been playing 1/2 NL for the last few months. I'd rather play limit but for various reasons have no choice. Anyway, I've done...

Re: Deposits by New Yorkers

I think you missed my point. Banks in New York won't allow payments to gambling sites. I don't think Neteller accepts money orders and the banks won't issue a cashiers check to Neteller etc.

Deposits by New Yorkers

Sorry if this has been covered ad nauseum, but I couldn't find it using the search utility.

I live in New York, where the State Attorney General has convinced the major banks and credit card...

Re: Why wouldn\'t this make NY card rooms legal?

It has been recently ruled in the New York courts that even charitable organizations cannot run Poker Tournaments. They can however offer Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, etc. because those games pit the...

Re: (Home Game) How to play a short stack against weak players ??

I don't see in the original post that he had only 2 bb or less...I think that's your assumption. Playing the short stack strategy that I'm referring to is usually meant to be 25 Big blinds or less.

Re: (Home Game) How to play a short stack against weak players ??

Read Ed Miller's short stack strategy in "Getting Started in Hold'em". YOU'RE on the right track but shouldn't be playing hands as weak as A8s.

Re: Home cash game situation

If you knew you had $80 and the bet was $8.50 in a Non-tournament cash game, then why did you have to do all of that posturing? (Or as many call it "Getting air time"). Take off the hooded...

Re: Blind Raise From The UTG Player counted as 3d blind

I don't know why, but I hate straddles. Here is an extreme example that happened in a live 1/2 NL game I was in about a month ago.

I'm the small blind ($1). UTG straddles for $4. UTG+1 straddles...

Re: Opponent caught sneeking a peek what supposed to happen now?

He didn't mention what part of the hand it was and I guess I assumed it was at the end.

Re: Opponent caught sneeking a peek what supposed to happen now?

The way I see it, the guy who showed you his cards was wrong, not the guy who peeked. "Show one, Show all" is the rule at Foxwoods. If you show your cards to another player at the table, you are...

Re: Checking when the scare card hits -- weak tight or smart poker?

If the Queen on the board was a club and not a spade, then where is the "Scare" card you were referring to?

Re: Pushing with AA and KK

"How is it smarter?..."

Read the section about playing a small stack in "Getting Started in Hold'em" by Ed Miller and you'll know why it's smarter.
