Re: As a broke \"pro\" which game would you play...? (some stats)

I found myself in basically the same spot as you a few weeks ago. I just got married, so have paid about 25k out of my BR the last year, not including living expenses, and it killed me. I finally...

Re: 300BB downswings are not normal. PERIOD!

I haven't done any math but I prop full time and have experienced a crazy bad run or two. Most of my play is shorthanded/heads up. For me if I drop below 300 BB i drop down a limit. I want to have...

Re: 8 tabling?

I 8 table the NL 200 6 max. I like it! Takes a little getting used to, but it is pretty manageable with practice. I am at about 8 ptbb/100 after 50k hands, or about $120 an hour, plus roughly $28...

6 max limit tournaments

Good idea? Start with 50bb and give about 10 sec per move max. I would love to play a tournament and actually be able to play my game.

Re: Don\'t be fooled!! The Rake is ......

I prop full time. My pay is 100% rakeback. I've played about 30 hours a week the last 3 months and earned $22k. My rakeback was $14k while I only won $8k. I would say rake makes a pretty big...

Re: 100 dollars to start off with... What can I do with it?

Prop, lowest you can play is 1/2. If you don't hit a losing streak you will have a couple k in no time. Assuming you are a winning player of course. I started on there with 400, and in three...

Re: Bankroll Formula for Multitabling Props

I've been playing for a few years, propping full time for about 3 months. Now that I think about it I did have a two day streak where I lost about 1400. I had the most amazing bad beats over and...

Bankroll Formula for Multitabling Props

I understand that win rate is a key factor in determining needed bankroll. Throw multitabling and prop pay into the mix and things get interesting!

Can any of you math wizzes shed some light on...

Re: My perspective on the step tournaments -rake-

I would expect the good players/pros to prefer these due to the blind structure. As it is, I am trying to use 2 step 3 entries and haven't gotten a game yet, and I only want to win so many of them.

Re: My perspective on the step tournaments -rake-

To carry that logic further you could compare it to a 200 man $55 tournament. It would have a 10k prize fund and 1st would be $2700. 11-20 would basically get their money back. If you factor in...

Re: My perspective on the step tournaments -rake-

Yeah they aren't exactly the same, but I view this to be in my favour. I tend to have problems accumulating chips in mtt's, I think I am a little too conservative. I am working on becoming more of...

My perspective on the step tournaments -rake-

I am aware of the rake trap these tournaments can be. I think this is more the case for the single table than the two table ones though. The 2 table ones have structure much like a multi, and here...
