Yeah there are a bunch of sites beyond pokerroom that will run much faster than party on VPC - check the reviews, etc.. out at poker-mac (http://www.poker-mac.com) as the burning yen suggested...

check out mac poker pro - it is esentially poker tracker for the mac / pokerroom skins. I've been using it - and now I know who I'm up...

I think the Games Grid is simply a standalone Java app, just like pacific and bugsy's.
