Re: Berating the fish?
Many years ago my friends and I had a weekly home game - $20 buy in. Nickle antes. Max bet .25 and four raises. Needless to say, it was just an excuse to get together, have some beers, and bullshit...

Let me understand this - Why is 3 betting 77 from the SB a good play? What flop are you looking for against a LAP - only one that contains a 7 in my opinion.

Re: 15/30 Hand at Hollywood Park
OK - lets look at this another way - LAP is an unknow but is an LAP.
The way the hand was played cost our hero 4 BBs. What if...
Pre flop - Call
Flop - Check Call
Turn - Check Call

I'm in the small blind. It's folded around to the cutoff, who raises. I don't have a great read on this player, but ... he seems like a loose-aggressive player who knows what...

Re: Questionable River Fold
I'm don't understand why you played it so passively - Top pair 3 handed then heads up I would think you would want to be the aggressor. As for the river, I think you should have called. He could have...

Re: RESULTS
Maybe I'm way out of line here, but given the change in the number and types of players since the television boom, I would just slam on the brakes and go into check and call mode (or even give...

To Type, or Not to Type? That is the question. But at least we know what they did with all the Typewritters now that computers are here. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

ALWAYS RAISE ACES UTG!!!!
Bet the flop! Check call the turn. Check call the river.
In low limit games the people play any two cards and do not bet their big hands like they should (as you just...

Re: Results and Thoughts
In any low limit game the fish stay in there with the strangest holdings (I've seen people cold call 3 raises with J5o!).
Saying that, I think check raising or betting the turn, and check calling...

Re: 77 - overplayed?
I think you're safer just calling him down after all that action on the flop. If he has a hand you lose less. If he dosen't have a hand you win. And on the river, should you catch a 7 - raise him...

Thats just poker. It would have been more interesting if three people had KJ and there was KJ on the flop. What would the odds of that be?

Re: Did I give a Bad Beat or Make a Great Call?
Your point is well taken. I guess I just don't like doing from that early a position since I still don't know what's behind me and Big Slick is a starting hand that can often be very disappointing...
