Re: Etiquette/Rules of Order Question

Player Y was called and should have to show his hand. That's the rule.I'm not positive I'm right.

Some may argue that since Player Y saw he had the losing hand he's allowed to muck (since he can...

Re: Formula for a player of the year award?

To be fair I didn't develop the system, Poker School Online did. I think it's very fair provided you have a minimum # of game requirement for members in a given period. We rule that you must have...

I have the Ace/King Suited 11.5g chips and just wanted to warn you that the purple chips look a little like the blue chips. We've had that mistake before /images/graemlins/smile.gif (blue=10$...

Re: Considering setting up a home game.

I'd start off slow. No need to invest money until you know you'll have plenty of people. Use paper cards (and not KEMs). Can get them for $1.25 a deck in bulk. Make it a BYOFC (that's bring your own...

Betting Help

My tournament play has been really lousy lately. I dominated an entire quarter. The games were about 8 people then. We're now up to 12-16 and I've been doing terrible. This past quarter I finished...

Re: Short Blind

Once again, I have to agree with Spooky. You are entitled to 300 from each player that called but no more.

Re: Rule for bets when someone is all in

hachkc,

$16 is more than $15 (and that is why you consider this to be a raise)

However a raise in Hold'em must equal AT LEAST the big-blind. If faced with a raise the minimum re-raise is the...

Re: Rule for bets when someone is all in

I agree with Spooky. The minimum re-raise is now 15$. The first player who went all-in (making it to 16$) never re-raised. Therefore player A has no chance to re-raise.

Re: What Tells From Home Game Beginners?

I like to watch how long people stare at the flop. Often, when someone is looking at it for a long time they are trying to fit their hand into the flop (flush draw, straight, etc). Someone who...

Re: 2 become 1 - final table question!

We usually have between 10 and 14 players in our games.

Each table sits no more than 9 players. (So 5-5, 6-5, 6-6, 7-6, 7-7, 8-7, or 8-8.)

Everyone is assigned a random seat via The Tourney...

Re: What would you do - player looks at my cards in the muck...

A long time friend did this to me once when I pushed him all-in pre-flop. He folded and I started collecting the chips when he turned my two cards up. I looked at him and told him to NEVER, EVER DO...

Re: Am I missing anything?

Be flexible. Lots will go wrong the first time! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Make sure you understand how to combine the tables. You don't want to go making stuff up on the fly.

I'd use 2...

Re: How to make sure enough players show up for poker night?

Well one of the first things we did was make Thursdays Poker Night. That way, there's no question. If the calendar says it's Thursday that means it's Poker Night. We didn't want a weekend because...

Re: What Do You Folks Think About My Home Game Website?

I did it myself. If you want a copy of a template let me know. Hopefully your host lets you do server side includes because the left navigation and the right-side area are SSIs.

Re: What Do You Folks Think About My Home Game Website?

I think the site looks good. I remember your older version at Verizon. That site had a few more pages of info (schedule, rules, etc) but the new one looks better.

On our league site...

Re: FMMonty

Download the zip. Both files are the same as far as I know. The other file is a compressed file (and I think winrar or winzip can open it). Usually used on Unix/Linux.
