Re: I slowplay and lose, but was I wrong to do so?

raise the flop or dont, its marginal. Realize you will get a good amount of callers anyways though because of the size of the pot.

Re: 2-4 hand and using the 3rd Man

The problem is that you are not getting good odds on your hand. Because of the small probibility of you making your hand relative to the size of the pot. It is not a good call.

Re: 2-4 hand and using the 3rd Man

WAIT WAIT WAIT. How are you getting good +EV for the call on the flop? You can say MAYBE that you will get 8-1 if you hit the straight, are you're out odds are what 10-1?

Re: Should I have folded this set on the river.

no dont fold it, you just have to cap the bets, the utg is prolly just going nuts over a 2 pair or maybe he has the straight, or the straigh draw. who the hell knows MP1 has. The point is you can put...

Re: I\'ve been looking for a good book on game theory

What I have found is that there is a huge misconception about poker. You aren't going to find that "Game Theory", as in John Nash's theory, is going to help you.

Also strangley I saw Anne Duke...

Question about odds

I'm new to the getting good odds concept, this may be a simple question.

If you are looking at a flop which you got no piece of, and you know you are behing, however lets just say you think you...

Re: 10/20 AJo in BB, HU with CO

So wait I am the only person that is not a fan of 3 betting pre flop with a off suit A J, ESPECIALLY when you're motivation is to have him not steal the blinds! If you just call his raise, he's not...

MY PROBLEM WITH WHAT YOU SAID

Here's the main problem I have, with not just what you said, but from what I saw from many players: In my mind, trash talking has no place in poker. Because lets say you outplay an opponenet, and...

Re: JJ standard or chip spewing?

Yeah I have to think that you fold the checkraise, I woulda have to put him on 2 8's, or maybe ace queen suited..

Re: Only the strong survive!

No I dont think you played this awfully. With the preflop calls you would think there has to be a chance they had a ace or a queen. You could try betting river, they may see it as trying to steal...

Re: 10/20 AJo in BB, HU with CO

wait one sec. You said you 3 bet the flop to stop him from stealing the blinds. Why not just call, and see the flop. I don't like 3 betting pre flop too often, esp. with ace jack. Also, what is a...

Re: An “Information Ratio” for Poker?

Here's an interesting correlary:

There is a analogy that can be made from a particular argument against what is known as "Pascal's Wager". Who I believe was the inventor of EV, yes thats right it...

Re: \"The Amazing Race\" (airing tonight)

Re: Top set on a monotone flop

yah I think we are in agreement on a lot of it. Basically it comes down to whether you think he has the flush or not. Let's say that you dont think he has it for whatever reason, (he's a really loose...

Re: Top set on a monotone flop

yeah I mean I am not saying his play was bad. But I am just throwing this idea out as a possible play. Obviously, when he bets on the flop you have to decide if he has flush or he's on a draw. I am...

Re: Played ok, or wasted money?

I like the preflop raise in late position, the bet was ok, personally I woulda like to see a free card cause I would have had been thinking straight. But you played it as a semi bluff, it was ok.

Re: LAGdom Quest

I think the PF call is fine, even though it was a tight or semi-tight table. 2 questions, the reraise on the flop, you were trying to push him out if he had pair of jacks, you guys wouldn't consider...

Re: Top set on a monotone flop

what about the idea of reraising on the flop, generally if he was semi bluffing and he was on a flush draw he would prolly fold the reraise, if he hit the flush he'd prolly call or raise it again?...
