Re: My Greatest Comeback Ever, Please Share Yours!

My best comeback was a live MTT tourney at the Rio. We had 66 people in the tourney (with rebuys). There was a total of $185,000 in chips in play.

Halfway through the tourney (33 people left)...

Re: Who loses in the \"Big game\"?

Late last year Doyle won a big tourney. He remarked at the time that it kept him from recording his first losing year in awhile. So, I suspect Doyle lost a fair share last year in the big game.

Re: Terrible Play?

Definitely not a horrible play. Even though your in third place and not too far from being the chip leader, your in a precarious position. You can't feel too safe here. Your effective M is only...

Re: I\'m a bit new to SnGs- Need advice

All in!

You'll be a favorite against most of the hands the BB is likely to call with. A Raise is out of the question unless it's All in. Since your image is tight, the likelihood of picking up...

Re: did i make a stupid call here? huge odds..

Pre-flop - I think your call is in order - you're getting great odds with a decent hand and no one has shown any strength.

Flop- I like your flop bet here. Obviously two of the hands are in...

Dealer Tipping Etiquette Question

How much is a standard tip for the dealers in a MTT tournament. I was lucky enough to win one of the daily tourneys at the Rio this past week and I tipped just slightly over 10% (basically I rounded...

Re: Results

He showed down 44 - for the boat. I think he pretty much got the most out of me that he could. I certainly would've folded to a turn bet. He improved so he wasn't worried about draws anymore. A...

Do You Call This on the River

This was a Poker Starts SNG $5.50. My read on the villian was a solid player. He didn't do anything out of line. I'll admit, I was completely confused throughout the hand and realized just how...

Re: AA out of Position

Thanks. I agree that my re-raise was pretty weak. I was afraid of scaring everyone off. I didn't expect the trapped players to call the re-raise. But again, they were probably getting some odds...

AA out of Position

I had a question about playing this flop out of position with AA. THis is a $5.50 SNG on Poker Stars. This is only the 4th hand, so I have no reads on anyone yet.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em...

Re: How Would You Play This One?

Thanks. I agree. I should have just raised it pre-flop and that was my first mistake.

Re: How Would You Play This One?

I'm sorry this is very confusing. He's the SB and I'm the BB. So after the flop it should read, "He checks and I check" - instead of the other way around. On the turn he bets into me and I raise...

How Would You Play This One?

I had a tough hand last night, and I'm wondering if I should have played it differently.

Okay, I'm playing a $5+.50 SNG on Full Tilt. There are four players left. Play has become incredibly...

Pre-Flop Raising HU

I need to learn when and how to raise pre-flop when heads up. I basically have no clue when to do it. Here are just a few questions or considerations I wonder about?

What type of hands?
How...

Re: analysis: final hand of wsop 2004

You're right, he'd not getting odds to call. However, he was getting implied odds to call. Josh had a big stack and was likely to give action, considering his style. I'm not sure it was the right...

Re: Semi-obligitory 20K pokertracker checkup

Come back at 25K.... um, make that 50K. On second thought, come back at 100K. The stats might start to have some resemblence of meaning. It really won't be right then either. So, first play 200K...

Re: Flopped Ace quads on the bubble.

I think it depends on your opponents and what your image is. I think the default move is to check it to the river. Then make an outlandish bet there that looks like a bluff. But it depends as I...

Re: Pt stats 3200 hands PS .25/.50

This is one of the ironic things I find about PT. Everyone tells you to get it. "Any serious player has to have PT." But it appears that you can't ever look at it for a year or something before...

Re: Learning at Party 1/2 - is this good or LAG?

I think you played it fine. The turn raise depends on your read. Will these players call the flop with bottom pair? Although I like the raise to knock out the button, plus you might pick up the...

Post-SSH Results

I'm up 22 BB for the first 100 hands after reading SSH (at the micro-level). Obviously, the sample is too small to make any informative assessment, but it is encouraging.

My weakness has always...

Re: Dumb WPT question.

THey do give some commentary during the actual event. Since they don't know the hole cards, they just report basically the action that is happening. Later on they sit in a studio and add in the...

Re: AJ, the silent killer.

1. It depends.
2. It depends.
3. It depends.
4. It depends.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Okay, here's my take, but some might disagree.

1. This depends on the limpers. What types of hands...

It's funny, I just finished reading that section. I went back and forth on the raise here or raise on the turn.

There are some differences here: the pot is much larger here, and there are...
