Re: Abandoning the slow play (TD 2-7)

If people put you on a rough hand, they're just more likely to freeze you on a hand. If they put you on a wheel, they fold. And you're arguing this will increase the amount of action you're going...

Re: Abandoning the slow play (TD 2-7)

You played this hand terribly, but I managed to play it worse. How many times does someone fold here for 2 small bets (especially given the preflop action)? 1/4 of the time?

Also, you're making...

Re: Royal holdem starting hands

You only have a 17% chance of completing a four-flush on the turn and river combined. So, I don't think you can really play much of anything suited that you can't play unsuited.

Collusion would be ridiculious in this game.

Re: 2-7 TD: rough hand with a rough redraw

I think tossing the 9 is the standard play. I'm keeping it because my opponent draws rough sometimes and I felt like mixing up my play.

I think this is a spot where it's reasonable to keep it...

Re: UB Tripple Draw Limits Question

If I had to guess, you're quickly looking and accidentally checking out some other game.

Every once in awhile, I'll be amazed at all the new limits and players and then realize I'm looking at...

Re: .25-.50 A-5 hand

Round 1 is fine as long as you're not against tight opponents.

Round 4 is pretty much automatic unless you have a great read on your opponent. You just don't have to win a lot for the call to be...

2-7 TD: rough hand with a rough redraw

I've been looking for holes in my game lately because of a rather fun downswing. Here's a spot where my play is fairly suspect, but does have some merits.

My opponent is a very active opponent. ...

Re: Betting with a rough 9

Ha, I think this was me and I think I called with a worse hand. I've been playing so bad lately.

Anyway, yeah, I agree with your reasoning.

Re: POKERSOURCE ONLINE

I'd just like to play devil's advocate and point some things out.

They're often slow to actually pay. They always do it eventually, but they've been a couple weeks behind before. Not to...

Re: Duces Full (2-7 TD)

Normally, you'd draw one on the first round and then go pat. Just keep betting until you get raised and then fold.

You can safely assume that you won't have odds to draw 4. So, don't do that...

Re: Maybe interesting break decision TD 2-7

This is really just read dependent. There's a group that will bet their best hands like this and a group that will bet their 8's and bad 9's like this.

If you have no clue, I guess the best thing...

Re: Dealer\'s choice question

I think hold'em and PLO have the biggest positional advantage.

PLO/8 has less of a positonal advantage because so many hands will go to a showdown.

Obviously, picking stud or stud/8 is a...

So, I assume we're talking 5bb/100 here. My question is, what limit are we talking about? Can...

Re: the fundamental theory of poker

Theoretically, the last player can follow a strategy that the early position player cannot beat even without perfect information.

In practice, this is true unless the late position player is much...

Re: True or False

Ha, this actually would have been a good poll.

It's true though. Only people that don't understand what poker is about would argue otherwise.

Re: Padooki/Badugi forum - Can we set one up?

I'd be surprised if badugi was not made up as a variant of triple draw that could be played at a full table. I don't see how anyone argues that badugi isn't poker unless they argue that other forms...

Re: Padooki/Badugi forum - Can we set one up?

Like tapirboy said: this forum is perfect for badugi discussions

There really aren't that many posts here anyway. And most of them center around games that are similar to badugi.

Re: Badugi now on Doyles Room!

I have a feeling that's it's a lot like a-5 triple draw. The only real difference is that you're never getting anyone to break.

Re: Is 2 to 7 lowball dead?

I have a feeling that single draw requires a very large ante and a fairly low rake to be a sustainable and interesting cash game.

Unfortunately, Games Grid offers neither of those features.

I've used two different affiliates. And other than trust and %, you should consider how convient cashing out is. It's something I didn't consider, but that makes a big difference.

One makes me...
