Re: Size Does Matter

I am not convinced that he does have the big draw with 6d7d, but I hadn't seen it mentioned yet as a possibility. It is very unlikely that the "solid, competent player" in the SB called with 67o.

Re: Size Does Matter

My original thinking was that he could have two overs and a flush draw (6d7d was the first hand to come to mind) and trying to get you to come over the top, and your last point about you raising last...

Re: Interesting early tourney hand

Incidentally, K-K was my first thought on the BBs reraise, just a gut feeling. I used all of my time and folded, as did the big stack on the button.

Interesting early tourney hand

Blinds 15-30, I'm in MP with Q-Q.

New player to the table, UTG+1 raises to 60, I reraise to 200.

Button (~5000 chips) calls. He'd been playing a lot of hands, and showing nothing.

Solid,...

Re: Face death and spit in it\'s eye? Or flee like a frickin coward?

I don't have anything of note to add to this thread, but I think the subject line is great.

Re: Folding aces (low content)

As long as you are in your current position relative to the blinds, and are not any shorter, I agree with this.

Oh I forgot

Another reason I like UB more is the game much moves quicker. There are more hands in a tournament than at PS. 10 seats compared to 9 seats means blinds come around less often, means you can wait...

Re: Help me decide between UB and PS

I will help you out since I play the low buy-in tourneys as well. I play these almost exclusively on UB. The structure moves slowly, which gives skillful players an advantage, and you start with...

Thank you 2+2ers- 1st big tourney win

I feel a little silly posting this on the same board as official threads of PP Million, $100 NL tourneys and the like, but here goes.

I want to thank all of you for your help, as tonight I took...

I did the right thing?

I think I was correct here, just want to get some more opinions.

Blinds 100/200

Hero is BB with 3300
Villian is MP with 13000

Hero is dealt Tc Jc

Villian, Hero, and LP limper see flop

Re: Stressful situation..looking for opinions

I think making the call was correct. Even if you lose, you still have more than the other two short stacks. And like you said, if you win, you basically lock up first place. Playing the hand as...

Re: Stressful situation..looking for opinions

I think I would have bet the flop in this situation. Yeah, you have the straight flush draw, but if you don't want to tangle with the other big stack like you say, trying to win this with a pot...

Re: Newbie Question

If another seven comes off, they both have a higher two pair with an A kicker, ditto for two runners, like 8-8 or 9-9.

Re: Newbie Question

Pot was 3000 after the SB bet, you had 4000 left, I think it was the right move. You can't fear 8-9 here.

Re: What does the Avg. Stack Size tell you?

The average stack size is just a number taken from the total chips in play in a tournament divided by the number of players left. It really has no basis on how you should play.

Re: William Shatner - my new favorite player

Nice try, again, my biggest fan. You even made it look more convincing with the q instead of the g.

You do a poor imitation of me, though I guess I should be happy I have someone imitating me, after only a few days on this forum.

Re: Steal attempt from UTG with 4.5xBB left

Consider that I am the most cowardly player in the world when it comes to bubble play (no one on this board is allowed to use that against me), I wouldn't try this steal from first position.

Maybe...

maybe you're my new favorite player, as long as you're not a pretty girl, because then I am a lemming or a stalker.
