Re: Hypothetical Question

You might want to read page pp. 197-98 of HPFAP (if you haven't already)..."When the Blinds are Very Loose". Although not a direct answer to your question...it gives some insight.

Full Time Players (i.e. no \'real\' job)

I wasn't exactly sure where to post these questions...I thought this was the best place since it seems many who post here are playing full time.

1. How do you answer applications asking for your...

Re: A Once-Every-Three-Months Play to Add to Your Arsenal

"You bet the flop, get one or more callers, and the villain in the last position raises. Everyone calls."

I made the assumption there were two other players in the hand. However, with more...

Now that Party is separate from their old skins, what site do you play most?

Re: A Once-Every-Three-Months Play to Add to Your Arsenal

Hmmm...interesting play. I'm not sure what hand you are bluffing though? If the guy is on a busted flush draw, a call works too. I think you get two folds by weaker hands, or a call by a hand that...

Re: Too aggressively played? Live 15/30

Yeah...if you are pretty sure you won't get capped (As certainly helps), but if I'm the SB with a flush there, I probably cap (thinking big blind is on AA, KK, AK).

Re: Common Hand 2

Reads are important here. Sometimes being passive gets you more.

1. If he's bluffing, you get more by just calling.

2. If he's behind and able to release a three outer (if he has a weak king)...

Re: Too aggressively played? Live 15/30

Hand 1. Fold preflop. If raiser is weak, loose, OK, three bet...but you just said he's aggressive.

Hand 2. Call turn raise. By three betting, you are likely to either get a fold by a dead hand...

Re: 89s 30/60

Unless the raiser plays very poorly post flop (fit or fold, spews, etc.), I don't like three betting with speculative hands out of position (once in a while to mix up play). Also, you may get capped...

Re: 15/30 KK

I don't think you are ahead here and you don't have the odds to spike a king. Without any reads, I fold.

Re: is there a right way to play this?

I knew monkies have learned sign language...but they are playing poker now?

Check flop with the intention of raising preflop raiser (this should build a nice pot). Check turn, again with the...

Re: Tilt, Brilliant, or Boring?

Check and call flop. You don't want AA, KK, QQ to raise...all likely hands for a weak tight UTG. Your hand is not strong enough to withstand a lot of action and there is a good chance you are not...

Re: 77 in MP1 vs one EP limper

OK....unknown table conditions, you limp. If you know there are some super aggressive players behind you, does that change your decision?

Do you also limp with 22-66 with one EP limper?

Re: I have a set, check/fold?

Bet flop, and reraise his raise. When he makes it four...call him down. Sure, once you see the case K, that rules out AK....but I don't think your certainty level of AA is high enough to muck. ...

Re: What about my turn raise....

I don't know about everyone else, but I can get away from this hand in this spot. If I'm going to play it, I bet flop and see what happens. Given that you checked flop and it got checked around, I...

Re: Optimum line question

EASY check and fold. You were hoping to flop a flush draw, two pair, trips, etc. and you didn't. Any A, KQ, KJ, KT all have you crushed. With that board, having a backdoor flush draw doesn't...
