Re: I want everyone to berate me for this play

In small stakes play a bet like this could be anything from a cold bluff through a semi-bluff (most likly in my experience) to top pair or whatever. With a stong hand like trips and not too many...

Re: Spewing? Do you ever fire the third bullet here?

[ QUOTE ]
Very rarely is it a good idea to fire 3rd or even 2nd bullet

[/ QUOTE ]

Second bullets are my speciality. Folk will often call a flop bet in hope of some improvement. They...

Re: 3/6(6-max): Turned flush draw, disguise/build pot

If you simply smooth call on the turn your odds of hitting on the river are 9/37, the pot odds are 15/39 , not in your favour but not a million miles out. Given the impiled odds should you hit on the...

Re: Post your best expert play!

I believe, although it's rather subjective, that friendly chat allows you to get away with more moves. I'm talking about online, if I can strike up some banter in the chat window, I don't get my...

Re: opinion time -- how weak will you call

I'm with you, maybe also QJ. Villian either has nothing at all or Jx. He does not have AJ else he would have raised on the flop.

Re: I can\'t fold

This is a heavily situational dependant descision, you will frequently have your continuation bet challenged:

How often have you been raising preflop. Do you nearly always make a continuation bet....

Re: Wierd spot. 2/4 6max

No set no bet. Some folk play middle pairs aggresivly pre-flop but you don't have much of a hand unless you hit a set.

Re: What to do when you run bad???

When you are running bad there is only one thing to do, stop playing for a while. Maybe a long while.

My play changes dramatically when I'm running bad, I become a wild maniac, splashing chips...

Re: How to Win and Lose 40k in 2 weeks

Eeek!
I seen quite a few poker players playing -EV games like Roulette, Blackjack and Craps. I've always found it it a total enigma why. A very strong grip on the laws of chance is required for...

Re: Lay it down? AKsuit

Yeah, reraise preflop. You want no more than one caller with AK. Also if initial raiser had KK or AA he could then tell you.

Re: How do you play the Turn?

You should, I take advice from Donkeys, Mules, Asses, and Zebras. I never take advice from Yaks and Thompsons Gazelles. I sometimes take advice from the Greater Spotted Woodpecker that feeds in our...

Re: Weak Lead 3-bet on Turn: $2/$4 6-Max

You are representing Tx, I believe you and call with TJ or better.

Villian also believes you and raises with AT or better

Re: 10 10 in the BB, how is my line?

Good until the turn, either bet the turn or check then fold to his bet. You're probably beat here when he bets the turn, he clearly isn't drawing with that board. You have but two outs, so why call?...

Re: Has anybody ever written a basic strategy guide to 6 handed NLHE?

you can play any way you want at 6max, as long as you do it well, ie as long as you can read hands, pay attention to your opponents tilt factor/atyle, etc

Re: Has anybody ever written a basic strategy guide to 6 handed NLHE?

I didn't mean a starting hand chart. That's more for 10 handed limit. I wonder if there is such a thing as a basic strategy for 6 handed NLHE.

Here's rule number one at least:

Rule number one:...

Re: When to rasie UTG vs three at hold\'em?

The answer is 66.67% I calculated this in a horribly complex way don't ask me exacly how but it's related to throwing two dice and finding the average highest die. This converges to 66.67 as the...

When to rasie UTG vs three at hold\'em?

You are Heads up at the end of a Hold’em tournament. Then, putting aside any questions of playing the player but just concentrating on the cards, it must be correct to raise whenever you hold one of...

Re: Suspect turn bet, comments please.

Check/Call far too passive here. Most of the time I'll win the pot with a flop semi-bluff vs paired board. Villian has to have the goods to call.

Suspect turn bet, comments please.

Hero is vfuller.
I think the flop semi-bluff is resonable, villians call is likely a Q, although there are plenty of other possible holdings. What do you think about the turn bet?

***** Hand...

Re: why do I keep calling

I'm in that club also. Another variant is to bluff when you know you are going to get called.

With me it's a tilt thing. Is it the same with you?

My game up until recently was mostly Sit n' go,...

Re: Bad Bad Day! Hand 5

I would never check the turn here. Villian could have a huge range of holdings that don't fill up when the J hits. I'm not giving a free card here or inviting a bluff.
