Re: $20+2 : QQ -> UTG, a hand that always perplexes me....

I'm guessing with a BB of just 30, that this is early in the tourney and you probably don't have much of a read on his style of play yet. This is the type of flop where many times the first to bet...

Re: Please settle a bet

As far as tournament play, I've heard several people say (to avoid giving off tells) to "let the dealer count down your chips" if another player asks for an exact count.

Do dealers do...

Please settle a bet

We had a debate yesterday as to who is responsible for doing the chip countdown. When a player asks for another player's EXACT chip count (as opposed to an observational rough guess) who's...

Re: TurningStone Poker Classic this week. Who\'s going?

Stinky,

To be honest you can't go wrong with any of the courses. There are 2 courses that are "at the casino" - Shenendoah & Kaluhyat. Of the two Kaluhyat is definitly more difficult (IMHO). The...

Re: Razz

Razz is the mirror image of "standard" 7-stud. So to answer #1 it's dealt like stud. The object is to have the LOWEST possible hand with one caveat - straights and flushes DO NOT count against you,...

Re: Late Night Poker?

LNP was not a "new" show. It was made in Europe back in '99 (ie pre-dates the WPT Season 1). Fox just bought the rights to the show.

Re: Playing with a Kill

1. In my personal experience, the amount of the pot never mattered. If the player won 2 consecutive pots, the kill went into effect.

2. Some players may tighten up a little for that round but...

Re: When, in tourney play, is one considered to have a short stack?

The "generally accepted" range is between 5-10 BB. Keep in mind though that how you play that stack can still depend on what stage of the tourney you are at (early, bubble, well in the money).

Re: Small blind, short stack, ITM

I have to disagree with the other 2 replys. I would fold here. The "average" hand is Q7. You are WELL below that. Knowing that your "desperate" if the BB has any kind of a hand, you will get called...
