Re: KJs -- too much?

KJs is easily dominated by this board. What were your outs? Can't count J's, so that leaves 2 K's and 3 T's. With 6 players, you can count on an A. Your straight value is reduced by the possibility...

Re: flop a set but the board gets scary and players get aggro

Hand 1: Why are you 3-betting against a check-raise with a flush obvious and no history on the villain?

Re: Semi(?)bluff the turn or fold?

Didn't want to spoil the hand, but UTG had pocket 2's, so he might have capped the flop, and it's very good justification for 3-betting on my part. On the other hand, he might have flat called and...

Semi(?)bluff the turn or fold?

UTG is about 30%/9%.

Re: Who are the worst players on Party Poker? This will help

Are you sure? Is aggression cause or effect? Does a player getting good cards get rated as aggressive because he has the confidence to bet or raise? Being a winner could imply aggression, but...

Re: AQ against TAG\'s pf 3 bet, what\'s my river play? (BIG pot)

I think SB's flop raise is a knee jerk reaction from someone who's

not very good at cards.

CO went silent, so I think you can check/call one for Ed.

Re: KK vs a flush on the turn

When someone new shows aggression, it's time to slow down. CO could have picked up his second pair, or he could have been hiding a set or straight. You've got one pair with a flush draw, so play...

Re: too passive with trips/weak kicker?

If a set almost always goes to showdown with a high win percentage, don't you want to be pumping the pot?

Re: AK unimproved

I think you can fold in a small pot heads up giving away your spade outs and having bad position for bullying.

Re: AQo, I go all aggro in the BB against a Button\'s LRR.

Actually, he does on p.103.

No gap = 1.5
1 gap = 1.0
2 gap = 0.5

Lots of posters have been overlooking this little fact.

Re: AQo, I go all aggro in the BB against a Button\'s LRR.

I think anytime you pair your kicker, you can play your overcards at face value. With the flush A, I think his overcards are worth 5, since he's now playing for two pair, considerably better than one...

Re: AQo, I go all aggro in the BB against a Button\'s LRR.

How about calling the flop raise, collecting a few extra bets, and trying to isolate him on the turn?

He's likely to bet, and you can force any survivor to call two cold.

Re: Standard Hand 2: Whiffed Overcards OOP

I was trying to point out another way to look at the discount for overcards and TPTK hands.

Re: When to take a shot against a PFR?

Calling the flop for one small bet with 3.5 real outs requires a final pot of 6.5BB. You can discount your chances almost 25% if the pot reaches an average 8.25BB, so I don't thinking taking one card...

Re: When to take a shot against a PFR?

I deleted my previous reply so I could rewrite it from a different angle.

You pulled off a runer-runner straight. I think you had implied odds to take one off at the flop, and pretty close to pot...

Re: KQs overcards - call, raise, or fold?

You also need to estimate effective odds when you decide to continue. If you raise and try to force this heads up, and villain keeps betting, your effective odds are about 3:8.75.

If you think...

Re: KQs overcards - call, raise, or fold?

As stated, the final pot was 6.25 BB.

My average $.5/$1 pot over last 15k hands is 8.25.

This pot is not huge, or even average. It might have been average if hero stuck another 2BB into it,...

Re: KQs overcards - call, raise, or fold?

Fish play lots of AKQ|94 combinations. It looks like someone caught the flop and you are behind.

You don't have enough outs to call without the flush draw, so choose one: raise or fold. You have...

Re: Fold, Call-Down, or What? JJ vs. AA?

Look at your win percentage with JJ. You should be making money with two callers pre-flop. Besides, JJ could use the help if you narrow the field. It's a good investment of one small bet. If you get...

My chart's the same (pretty much SSH), but I'm really struggling with these passive tables. Do you think I induced AA (both of them!) to just call?

I could have easily eaten the small bet and...

Table is 45% VP$IP with 0% PFR, but I guess that doesn't matter.
