Re: How do you play this very strange bubble situation.

[ QUOTE ]
Yes it was an $11...my thought here is that I have heard others say that in this situation that laying anything but AA or KK is the right choice as making the money is the primary concern...

Re: AQ early facing re-raise

There wasn't really anything else to do here. Anything less than a standard raise with AQ in the cutoff after it is folded to you is weak, IMO, and there isn't really much point in raising more. ...

Re: weak trips on 1st hand of 22... right to fold?

I would call here. I would call even though the way you've played the hand announces "I have trips" and Roberta moved in anyway. I would call even though A-4 suited is the only hand Roberta could...

Re: just how good are snowmen?

8,8 is a big hand three handed. You are very likely to have the best hand preflop, and in this situation, you are looking to double up so you can make a run for first. Getting all your chips to the...

Re: 99 preflop, 2 raises, did I play this wrong?

Well, KQ is a very different hand from 99. Without knowing all of the details, I would say that no, you shouldn't have pushed vs the minraiser with KQ. Generally speaking, when pushing over the top...

Re: 99 preflop, 2 raises, did I play this wrong?

I think this is a pretty easy call, because I would expect the second all-in raiser to have a pair lower than yours and be looking to isolate the all-in short stack, who could have just about...

Re: do you take a stand?

You have to call here. You will be well ahead most of the most, and you will win most of the time, and as a result you'll be in good shape to make a run at first most of the time.

The rest of the...

Re: Calling min-raises with low pocket pairs preflop?

In order to profitably call raises with pocket pairs early in an SNG, I would suggest the following conditions be met:

1. You are not investing more than 7% of your stack pre-flop.
2. You are...

Re: $20+2 : QQ -> UTG, a hand that always perplexes me....

I like Phil's calling line, mostly because I don't think you are beat here. I read the SB for a jack or a PP, or a bluff. I don't think he bets out here with a K, unless he is a real good player. ...

You made a great read here Scuba, and really maximized your value by inducing the bluff.

That being said, I do not think I would have played the hand the same way (perhaps to my detriment). It...

You are not getting enough implied odds to call trying to hit a set and up double up (because you're stack isn't big enough), and raiser isn't going to fold if you push. There is no real...
