Re: Rake at 3/6

I just moved to 5/10 last week. The rake at 5/10 is like .05 BB less than 3/6.

5/10 is a little tougher than 3/6. The overall aggression is higher but it's still donktastic.

Re: Hand...

[ QUOTE ]

I was originally all for this thinking that many Ax hands will think they have you beat. On top of that, many Ax hands might open from the SB. I want to 3-bet so badly, but I could see...

Re: Willfull suspension of disbelief as it pertains to river play

[ QUOTE ]
I call.

1 bet gets you BB's bet plus possibly Button's bet.

If you raise and BB doesn't have a 4, you lose the Button and get another bet from BB unless it was a stone cold bluff....

I really think it just simplifies the whole problem to think of it that way. Your hand is just so good it's not even funny here.

Yup you're right. I just felt the raise...

Re: Willfull suspension of disbelief as it pertains to river play

great post

B is a lot higher than 10% tho

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh and just by looking at the equation, you can see that:

B makes twice as much of an impact as compared to A

Re: Willfull suspension of disbelief as it pertains to river play

Ok I'm going to try and solve this problem using some math.

Let X be the probability that Hero is ahead of UTG
Let Y be the probability that Hero is behind UTG

Let A be the probability that...

You're joking me.

I am.

But I would cap it anyways. There is a chance that one of them is getting stupid with a hand outside the range, not to mention your discount in...

Re: T9o River

[ QUOTE ]
i am pretty sure villain has a set a good percentage of the time. the turn is a pretty commonplay at 3/6 since there are 4 people in the hand. it seems obvious that a bad player would...

Re: 10/20 KK

Bet/3-betting the turn is a sign of immense strength normally.

I'll agree that his flop line is a little odd and defining his hand range can be quite debatable but I think you need to know that...

Re: T9o River

You're getting 13 to 1 odds meaning you have to be good only about 7% of the time.

You don't really have much information to narrow down his hand range, as he is very loose and called all the way...

Re: AKs Plan

I think you can call the turn and see the river card. I think your overcard outs are very very clean. Most players will slowplay trip jacks so I think you can discount that significantly. You aren't...

Re: 5/10: JJ w/ A flop

You get to see a showdown and get a chance to hit your possible two outer for the same price (2 BB's).

Re: c/c or bet/fold with A when board is double paired?

I don't see villain calling a bet from you with a worse hand (Q high). Unless you have a read that says otherwise.

Other Ace highs are probably calling the river but that doesn't give you any...

raise preflop.

That's actually not a bad idea. You have an equity edge against two random hands and raising might buy you the button + an increase in equity with some dead...

Re: KK line check.

I don't think you should fold this.

Most people will think "He's FOS he doesn't have the Q" and will C/R with a 7 or some other PP. This happens quite often.

Re: Q9s, paired board

I think this is an easy limp with bad players as you will have a marginal edge. Raising is ok too for the same reason.

That being said you only have that marginal edge if you are capable of...

Re: overplayed or just right?

I don't mind your line although the river donk is a little worrysome.

I'd just play it straight up against a lag and 3-bet the flop. I think that would have helped you make a decision later on in...

Re: Keeping the Lead in the Blinds

There are very few hands that we're ahead of that will call the river. So unless he is a gigantic calling station I think this is a check/call on the river to induce a bluff.

Note that if the turn...

However, if that's the case, we can't check/call the river too. We have to fold if he bets the river, too. We'll almost never see a river bet from a hand we beat.

Re: Scary flop with TT vs a lag

You're pretty much break-even equity wise on the flop. I think 3-betting to possibly push the BB out to get it heads up with the lag would improve our equity significantly. If the BB still calls it...

If you didn't have the gutshot outs then I would bet the turn as we can safely fold to a raise. The fact that you have outs to a gutshot leads me to check and call as I would hate it to be...
