Re: Strange Action -- JJ vs. an all-in raise

Hand 1 I have no idea what the villain has. What hands make sense for him to limp/call a large raise? To me, AQ/KQ/QJ/QT are not likely in this situation. I can't peg him on AA/KK/QQ because he...

Re: Strange Action -- JJ vs. an all-in raise

I've been experimenting buying in short since I read Barry Greenstein's book, and he advocates it. So far so good. I actually don't think it changes anything, but my stack size forces me to make...

Strange Action -- JJ vs. an all-in raise

PP $100NL, full ring.

Hero ($~55) is in BB with J /images/graemlins/club.gifJ /images/graemlins/heart.gif. 3 limpers. SB folds. Hero raises to $7. One caller (has hero covered) in MP.

Flop...

Re: AM I A DONKEY

Your continuation bet in the first hand is really weak. Other than that, not too bad. Too bad the villain in hand 1 didn't re-raise the flop to let you off cheap.

It's easy for people holding...

Re: K5s in BB.

You are letting a flopped flush off too easy with the river check. You almost certainly have the best hand . . . make him pay for the showdown.

Re: Putting it all-in with QQ unimproved??

Results in white (slightly strange):

<font color="white">
Villain calls and shows TT. He does not improve and MHIG.

I love it when this happens.

Re: QQ facing heat, do you make the call?

You can't think he has a 2 in his hand. AA/KK seem unlikely. That means you are only behind 88 and 66. More likely, he has 99, TT, JJ or even 77. Call.

Re: I don\'t suppose i could fold this? $100NL

Daniel Negraneau says he's only folded KK pre-flop once. And he was wrong about that one time. He could have been talking about tournaments, but he didn't say that. Anyway, if never folding KK is...

Re: Big draw facing raise and reraise on flop: insta call or not?

Barf. I think you are drawing to a non-diamond 8 a bunch of the time as the possibility of a higher flush draw is relatively large. Fold.

Party Poker $100NL. Full Ring. Effective stacks ~$85. Hero is in MP with Q /images/graemlins/club.gifQ /images/graemlins/heart.gif.

Re: Sit with max when 200 BB is allowed ?

I have no sources, but I think that a solid player with good control will earn more from TPTK and overpair hands with a large stack than with a small stack, over the long run. I am not...

Re: Sit with max when 200 BB is allowed ?

If you have the book, you should be able to find it. He was clear on the subject. He said he usually buys in short because it makes decisions easier.

Re: Sit with max when 200 BB is allowed ?

It is not true that you should always sit down with the max. Barry Greinstein advocates buying in short in his book. I have been trying it lately by buying in for 50BBs, and it has brought success...

It is extremely unlikely that he has an MBA from a school in the top 50 if he is only 23. Pretty much all of them require 2-3 years of work experience minimum.

Re: NL 200, anyone find a fold here?

Yes, easy. You are only behind 52 and 57. I can't imagine the villain was raising pre-flop with one of these hands, and if he was you can catch a fullhouse and suckout. It seems like the villain...

Re: $300 buy-in NL Live - $4 rake on every flop - best way to beat it?

The B&amp;M I occasionally go to runs this exact structure. The players are so ridiculously horrible that I think it is beatable, but I've only played their twice and am down for the two (short)...
