Re: A Rebuy ? for Math Majors

[ QUOTE ]
Well i said that you have to ignore time. EV is unrelated to time spent. So you're not 'throwing away' $8, you're just going to put the $10 to a better use.

[/ QUOTE ]
But why are you...

Re: A Rebuy ? for Math Majors

[ QUOTE ]
If what i said is close to true. then even single rebuying, and single rebuying if you bust, is more +EV than double rebuying and double rebuying if you bust.

[/ QUOTE ]
That doesn't...

Re: A Rebuy ? for Math Majors

Suppose you have a choice between two poker tournaments in different cities (your bankroll is easily large enough to enter either one).

The first is a $3,000 buyin and you estimate your ROI would...

Re: A Rebuy ? for Math Majors

You shouldn't even consider ROI when thinking about poker tournaments: that just leads to bad decisions.

You should make the decisions that maximize EV, not ROI.

Re: and in this corner.....weighing 265 pounds..Folding Equity!!!!!

A_Plus, I think you're right that raising the flop is in order. It's a little counterintuitive because our goal on a flop like this is to get all-in multiway -- that's much better than getting all-in...

Re: Whats my move?

What are the antes? I know Stars has antes at this level, but can't be bothered to look it up. It's pretty important, so you should include that information in your post if for some reason the...

Re: **Official Stars 100K added**

A great player can play a hundred of these tourneys and never even make the final table.

Re: **Official Stars 100K added**

Adanthar, that seems like a strange reason for passing up a tournament with negative rake.

The tournament is effectively $553-23 rather than $500+30.

Re: Xmas Stars $530 +100k added tourny

[ QUOTE ]
BTW...we aint on a freeroll no more.

It would not be a freeroll with 405 players. Prize pool would be $302,500 and last place would get 0.08% of that, $242, for a loss of...

A. I agree.
B. I see that the prize pool is "100,000 Added."
C. Present prize pool is 250G+/-
D. Usual guarantee is 700,000
E. This appears to be a clever way to avoid a huge overlay....

Does anyone think Villain overplayed their 2nd nut flush on a 4-flush & str8-flush board? Or was the push a give away of MBE's weakness? What do you think about Villain's flop line?...
