Re: 5 Mistakes with James
That makes sense. And actually, my point about the raise isn't really relevant. Sure you're prefer not to play the pp for a set for two bets, but if there were enough limpers, you'd actually...

Re: 5 Mistakes with James
Could you elaborate on that point? Limp EP but fold MP?
I imagine you mean because once you're MP you can see that you're not getting limpers. But at the same time, you also are more assured...

Re: 5 Mistakes with James
Hand 1 - Limp preflop. Might have missed a raise there on the end, but I can see starting to get scared of AA or QQ at this point. EDIT - yes, I see that Evan.
Hand 2 - Don't know what I think...

Re: set facing river check/r
you have second nuts - the only hand that can beat you is QQ. There's a reasonable non-zero chance that he does have that - I can see him playing it that way given the board. So I personally would...

Fast or slow on the flop?
Borgata $6-$12
Relatively passive table for this limit. People have good preflop standards though, but they just seem to hang around post.

Re: Flush draw + pair, big pot
I agree, and I see those downsides, plus the better payoff on a value-call vs a value raise. (Though, with 2 or more callers plus the original, you are now making money.)
But on the upside, what...

Re: Don\'t let a pansy play AJs
agree with other posters. this is one of those hands where it is crucial to think about what he thinks you have, rather than obsess over what he might have. your flop play screams "not an Ace", as...

Re: Think judo
Fantastic post. As was your post in the very long Evan vs. bdkclash post. Thanks for the clarity and insight.
But the relevant follow-up question for this poster is, how does one defend against...

Re: Flush draw + pair, big pot
that seems weak to me.
which better hands are you afraid of? a J, but the only credible J so far based on the flop play is the turn bettor. You might be up against an AT somewhere, but I can't...

Re: Flush draw + pair, big pot
Big pot. Lots of players. Coordinated straight and flush cards high and low. SO, you are likely up against a fair number of "caught something" hands, a few real (i.e., non-backdoor) draws, and an...

Re: I hate being heads up
fair enough. so long as poster is thinking along those nuances. and you're right, it does look like a fairly tight table, so the raise is effective here.

Re: K7s BB hand
I like the flop bet. For two callers it's basically a value bet minus the chance of the A-high flush beating you; for one caller you'd be happy to fold some hands anyway.
10% chance you just pick...

What's the rationale for betting the river?
I have to say, the biggest thing I see advocated around here that I just do not understand, intuitively, is the "I have a medium hand against some...

Re: Lost in a festival of limpers- WTF.
Yeah, muck this preflop.
But given the error, I'd raise the flop. Fold out two limpers, you've got some nice outs to hit and you have position to take a free card if you want it.

Anyway, check is good here.

Re: kicking ass and taking names in heads-up pots
Well, you're still 2:1 to hit one of your plentiful outs, so it's still a semi-bluff. And I think he's made it clear, as another poster mentioned, that he's not folding, so I don't think the fold...
