Re: A question about smaller pairs

This is what I like to do - though I doubt anybody would agree with it.
Out of position - I like to raise with the small pairs pre-flop, since this will give me a chance of stealing it by being the...

Re: AA - faced with an all in on turn

I think this is where that one line in Super/System applies to the SSNL game. With Aces, be happy taking a small pot or be willing to lose a big one.
So, make a big re-raise preflop. Take those 5...

I vaguely recall this show on Belgian Television which would translate into something like "super liar liar animal" http://www.zqcentral.com/sitegfx/vipicons/melksnor.jpg

have you read Al Schoonmaker's Psychology of Poker ?
If not, do so. Especially the section "why not to go pro" or something.

Re: Middle set from the BB...too much action?

Pot unopened, holding 99 on 6 max?
I would make a standard raise preflop.

Re: 1-2 6mx AA overpair problems.

Hand 1 ... I don't understand Lucky saying not to raise TT preflop here?
The only thing I would've done differently is raise somewhat less preflop. I think this will help keep the pot smaller so...

Re: Simple hand, is this a weak/tight fold? NL 200 6 max

[ QUOTE ]

TPNK OOP isn't exactly the bread and butter of your winnings.

[/ QUOTE ]

Of course it isn't - and that's not the reason I'm check-raising.

Villains half-pot bet on a draw...

Re: Simple hand, is this a weak/tight fold? NL 200 6 max

I think villain's ~half pot bet against three opponents is weak - if he had a made hand (TPTK, 2 pair, set) with possible flush and straightdraws out there - I assume he would've bet the pot to shut...

Re: 99 overpair out of position on $100NL 6max

[ QUOTE ]

You bet half the pot, got raised and still had absolutely no idea what path to take. So, you charged yourself a minimum of $15 to end up in exactly the same place you would have been if...

Re: 99 overpair out of position on $100NL 6max

[ QUOTE ]

Against someone I suspect must have some semblance of an actual hand, I might check the turn and lead the river, folding to a raise (especially if a straight card hits).

99 overpair out of position on $100NL 6max

I got myself into a nasty situation on Stars $100NL 6 max and wonder how I could have avoided it...

Villain has had a lot of comments from other players about playing terribly. From what I've...

Re: AA facing turn overbet.

Thanks. I'm curious how you would continue the hand...

So you flat-call the flop bet.
Say the turn comes a K, or Q, or J, and villain bets the pot. Do you raise him here, or do you keep calling,...

Re: AA facing turn overbet.

Does anybody like flat-calling villain on this worthless flop, in order to raise him on the turn?

Mind you, if he has 66 or TT - he would get all my money.

what would the ruling be?

Playing a friendly 3 table tourney in a local pub.
Player A checks.
Player B bets.
Player A check-raises all-in.
Player B ponders and ponders and shows one of his cards to player A, hoping to...

Re: 25NL AA SB, overplayed again?

Overbet the flop? With two opponents in the hand and two hearts on the board, wouldn't you want to bet the pot?

I'd personally bet over the size of the bot, around $15, wanting to take it down...

Re: Pocket Pairs in EP

How about mixing it up a bit, and raising with low PPs from UTG and UTG+1 , say a standard 3x BB.

This gives you the ability to CB on a non-scary flop that hasn't made your set, instead of...

Occasionally I would raise with this trash, all depending on image/table type etc etc. But generally, yes, I complete. My plan if the Ace flops:
if someone bets before me, I probably fold.
if...

Re: Passive tables - how to play?

I feel playing Ax from EP on a passive table is setting yourself up for trouble.

So you limp with the Ax and get to see the flop. An A hits so now you have top pair and a horribly weak kicker....
