Re: someone has a gambling problem

Here's the thing. Addicts hate to be told they have an addiction. In fact, they get extremely upset and will hold a grudge with you.

So, if you tell him, then he'll be really mad at you for...

Re: Exposed 1 card with 2 players left to act...

Well the most likely "standard" ruling is that players may not expose their cards unless it's the end of a hand or an all in call. Of course in a casino/official tournament, people can be punished...

Re: WSOP - XRay Vision Winning Chances

It is 100% win rate (for a tournament). Not 100% per hand though.

The trick is that you need to make it look believable. Of course people will start wondering what's going on if you *always*...

Re: Do you play for fun or for a living? When do you play?

What I think you'll find is that the both "for fun" and "for a living" players will play mostly at the same times.

Why? Cause the guys trying to make a living need someone to make their money...

To be honest. I think it's harder to play against bad players online (they're cake in live poker).

Whenever I'm up against a decent/good player, they will play a certain way and you can slowly...

Re: How do you explain your career?

You guys think telling people that you play poker is weird? At least poker has recently become widly popular and many people are actually impressed.

I'm an artist. Yeah fine arts.

Re: Minors at home games?

Not that I have a problem with an 11 playing poker. Shoot I let anyone drink alcohol at my table as long as no one gets drunk (drunk + poker = bad things).

What I have problems with is that my...

Re: $1 to $20,000 bankroll

[ QUOTE ]
It doesn't seem remarkable to me in any way. Just a waste of time to play the 0.01/0.02 while you have the skill to beat 100/200 games.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, since Chris Ferguson already...

Re: FUNNIEST HOME GAME STORY!

I think they're both idiots.

One guy for being a baby about losing and the manager for losing his temper over being called a name. Sounds like you were dealing with two childish people.

Re: Headsup etiquette question

How is this different from someone winning a pot, getting up from the table completely and then sitting down again with a different amount of chips?

As far as I know, you can do that on any poker...

Re: could i have played this hand any better?

I'm with eric on this for most of the time. There's the occasional desire to slow play hoping for a monster and making a huge pot. But usually with so many BB callers, it's better to bet big and...

Re: Was this slowrolling? If so, what should the proper action have been?

Yep, cards speak.

Doesn't matter if the person flat out lies to you, it all comes down to the cards.

Re: What are you good at? Focusing on your strengths.

Ok python apparently you have comprehension problems. I didn't say I was a great SnG SH player. I said that I am better at that than I am at cash games.

You see, I was comparing my strength...

What are you good at? Focusing on your strengths.

I posted a couple days ago out of frustration wondering what I was doing wrong. This post is directed at those who were in the same boat as myself; confused and always losing money.

And yes,...

Re: Cash Game Theory

I agree with Elric.

My thinking on this is that when you first sit down at a table, no one knows how you play or if they can bully you.

So if it's working for you, don't bother changing it. ...

Re: NLHE vs LHE

Limit is really weak in my opinion. Bluffing is next to impossible in limit. How many people do you think are going to fold to your amazing bet of "double the BB", oooo so scary. People will call...

Re: AA on the BB

I'm surprised at how many people are calling.

At the cash game, there's no reason to put all my money in the pot with everyone. I would prefer to take my time and earn my money slowly but surely....

Help me please. I need to know what I\'m doing wrong.

Here's the thing. I'm a tight aggressive player who occasionaly bluffs. Yes, pretty standard, no big whoop.

I like to play low NL (25 -50 cents). I play pretty well but apparently not well...

Re: What to do with misdeals?

As far as honesty goes, you should have said something when you first saw the 2 and said that it would make your hand. This would have avoided the anger and screaming. And not only that, but it...

Re: Bet AA preflop to reduce the number of callers?

AA is a strange hand. There are two ways I like to play it pre-flop (in NL). If I am in a late position and everyone has simply called the blinds, stealing blinds is probably worth it. So I bet...
