Re: Blind steal turned draw

I think raising pre-flop is fine, but make it atleast $21-24. Make a normal continuation bet and if he raises you can either push or call as I doubt he's making a real raise here.

FPS: Flop 3-bet pure bluff -- 400NL

I've played with Villain before and he seems like a solid TAG, around 24/8 if my memory serves me correct. I think he's definately capable of folding TPTK for 100xBB most of the time.

My table...

Re: A hand reading exercise

Button: 85s, 35s?, 88, 55, 33. Could be also a monster draw but OP didn't mention anything about his post-flop tendencies so I expect him to play one more passive.

SB: 88, 55, 33, 46c, 67c, A5c.

Re: NL400 AK/AQ missed SH

I think both questions largely depend on how often you raise pre-flop in general or how your opponents view your raising standards. If someone only raises pre-flop with AA-QQ and AK, he should...

Re: Notetaking

Does anyone know if it's possible to edit Party Poker notes in Poker Tracker while using the hand replayer?

Hero pushes and both players call. SB has a set of deuces and BB has 8-high flushdraw. I river a Jack for the win /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Uggggly spot with AJ -- 400NL

SB is 40/14 and not very aggressive post-flop. He calls way too much and overplays a lot of hands, and in general is the type of player you can never be sure what he might have. He's not a super...

Re: whats the record for stack size at a $25 NL buyin table?

http://koti.mbnet.fi/ote/24.png

From a 2+2 game a few weeks ago. I was on a 7 buy-in downswing, but luckily hit a 30 buy-in upswing by the end of the session. Variance is a bitch.

Re: Mini raises, is there a place for them?

I use min-raises against good and aggressive players as bluffs when the pot has already grown big. Here's an example from tonight:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 3 handed) FTR...

3-way pre-flop all-in with AK, 400NL

UTG sat down not long ago. SB is a donkey who I have put on major tilt with a stupid NPND river all-in bluff which succeeded and which I showed to him. I believe his 4-betting handrange includes most...

Re: Profitability of calling large raises with small pocket pairs?

[ QUOTE ]
This seems like a fallacy. If they're raising with marginal holdings all the time, can't you win a lot more often unimproved, or even more outrageously - by reraising pre-flop? Don't...

Re: Profitability of calling large raises with small pocket pairs?

I would avoid playing small pocket pairs against loose-aggressive players who raise a lot pre-flop, because even if they pay you with lesser holdings, they will not make a hand enough times to give...

Re: KT... I\'m too weak tight I think

There's one more reason to raise this hand: Raising more hands in general will get you more action with your premium hands. People say meta game doesn't matter at smaller games than 200NL but this is...

Re: KT... I\'m too weak tight I think

Honestly, KTo is too weak a hand to play in NL cash games. Just fold preflop.

This is nonsense. If you're a good post-flop player you could profitably raise worse hands...

Re: How to counter a continuation bet?

I don't ever min-raise anyone's c-bets, but when I'm in Villains spot and someone leads into me when I've raised pre-flop I often like to test them with a min-raise even if I missed the flop. This is...

About Villains handrange. This was maybe the fourth time he had 3-bet me pre-flop total during the 150 hand session. While I highly doubt it has always been either AA, KK, QQ or AK, he probably isn't...

Re: I\'m playing a 480xBB pot with AA, 100NL deep

Here's my thinking through the hand:

Pre-flop I didn't want to make it too easy for him to read my hand which is why I called. I think he knows I don't need a premium hand to call his 3-bets and I...

I\'m playing a 480xBB pot with AA, 100NL deep

Villain in this hand is a LAG, 45/17/4.33 after 300 hands, who is very aggressive and plays quite well post-flop. My table image is kinda LAGgy too; around 25/15 if Villain is using PT.

We've...

Pushing JJ pre-flop against two monkeys, 100NL

MP is 50/20 after 50 hands, always opening for $4. BB is 54/15.

Not long ago MP raised pre-flop with 88, MP 3-bet to $12 with TT and MP min 4-bet him. BB pushed, got called and won the race. They...

Re: TPQK in position hu

What's behind your small flop bet? Is it only because the board is so uncoordinated or do you always c-bet for half pot?
