Re: Bubble semi-bluff
You think so? I'm laying down a queen if I get reraised all in here. Is that a week play on my part?

Re: Bubble semi-bluff
Precisely - which is why I think you made a good play if BB is a reasonably solid player. If he's not, he might call with Q8o.

Re: Bubble semi-bluff
Do we know anything about BB? We would prefer not to be called here, so judging this play probably depends on the read. I like it if you think the player is reasonably solid - A good player will...

Re: $11 - lay down TPTK?
Reading some of these replies, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills... But here's what I would have done:
PF - raise to 3x the big blind - AQo is a pretty good hand, and I want to fire out a raise...

Re: hooks with position
My question is about CO check-raising on the flop when there were two diamonds on the board. With KK, might it be wise to not give a free card in case Hero was holding two diamonds or an ace?
In...

Re: hooks with position
Would we call the flop check-raise genius? I think you've got to bet out at that two suited board.

Re: KK - flop play
I don't mind the way you played this - you make a standard raise preflop that gets cold called, and you're aggressive on the flop with your overpair by betting and reraising.
This just sucks...

Re: A couple tough decisions...
I don't like the fold in the first hand that much - given the pusher's stack size and the relatively innocuous turn card, I think hands like top pair good kicker might push here. 23 suited could...

QQ Hand early in tournament
I'm sitting at a 10/1 single table sit 'n go at Party and get dealt QQ in the cutoff position. There is one caller to me, and I enter with my standard 3x BB raise. It is among the first few hands,...

Re: BB bets
Suited broadway cards or big pairs (TT and up), if six other people are in the pot already.
[Edit]
That's not right - I'm sorry, repiled too quickly - AKs-ATs is what I meant by suited broadway...

Re: 99 in BB...anybody making this call PF?
If villain is a TAG, why do we think he is raising to steal from MP1? I think it's fair to put him on a big pair or premium holding.
I still call with 9s here though. You're f***ed if he has...

Re: Proper pot odds play?
You're right - I could expect to make up four bets on the river with a check raise in a scenario where I am not reraised and MP1 calls two cold. I guess I called hoping for the scenario in which I...

Proper pot odds play?
This hand yielded a huge pot, but I wonder if I had odds to continue - I was drawing thin with my queens, but I thought implied pot odds gave me reason to continue. Did I suck out? Input is...

Re: Give me a Frop Line
A raise will be very unlikely to drive out a higher spade. Let's say that there are three players on the turn, all of which paid one small bet into the pot (4.5 BB by the turn). SB bets out, making...

Re: Give me a Frop Line
I think you want to call. Do not discourage other players with a raise. You want to see the pot get bigger - you make money on every bet that goes in on the flop.
