Re: 2/5 Live Deepstacked Trips

I think the point you were trying to make through your entire post was that the villains would like to gamble alot and just make big calls.

Just for arguments sake...being slightly results...

No more hand histories on party

Has party stopped saving hand histories directly to the hard drive. I just noticed this today..maybe its because I just got a new computer. Just seeing if anyone else noticed.

Re: AQs on the button, Party million, push or standard raise?

I would just push as if you raise to 4500 or whatever you really dont want a call. A thinking/gambling/idiot player can call and push any flop and then you will have to fold. A push will get calls...

AK with healthy stack on button facing a raise and cc

I just wanted to bring up a common situation in tourneys where you have to make the decision with your AK.

30+3 NL on party.
140/1000 left...first pays 5k
I get dealt AK on button.
Stack at...

Re: Classic Type Game Theory Problem

I broke down the game into 6 indpendent outcomes after the first two cards are dealt.

1) A < B < .5
2) B < A < .5
3) A < .5 < B
4) B < .5 < A
5) .5 < B < A
6) .5 < A <...

Re: Party 10-20 flopped full house, now what?

The whole reason you play 10 handed NL is to win big pots. The only way you win a big pot here is if someone has an ace. The way you played it, you have to hope that someone hits a runner runner...

After rivering the second nuts I don't see how Friedman could get away from his hand at any price, but maybe I'm wrong.

You do realize that the second nuts is far from...

How exactly do you pronounce EASSSSSSY? Does it rhyme with messy?

Re: EV+?

Assuming your chances at winning are equal to the proportion of chips you have in play. Then you have a 5/6 chance at first and a 1/6 chance at second.

SO your EV is 5/6*300 + 1/6 * 180 = 280. So...

Re: Is This a Call Preflop Aces Situation? 5/10NL

[ QUOTE ]

500 is still giving him just about the right implied odds. 300 to call, he's got 1500 more behind, and 900 in the pot, so he's getting 8:1. He is 7.5:1 to flop a set if he's got a...

Re: 20-40 commerce........when the [censored] hits the fan

The point I am trying to make is that you should almost never always do something...especially with deep stacks. Many people feel the need to always bet a set on a draw heavy board. I actually did...

Re: 20-40 commerce........when the [censored] hits the fan

I really don't understand why you think you must bet out on a draw heavy board on the flop. You don't have to do anything if you are a good player and can get away from a big hand. There is nothing...

Re: understanding outs shouldn\'t this be a 4% chance to win?!?

My counting was actually off. Here is the correct way.

pointless but whatever..

If you hit an ace it can be paired with any other non J or T.
So there are 3*34 combinations = 102
a king can...

Re: understanding outs shouldn\'t this be a 4% chance to win?!?

You simply cannot subtract probabilities in this manner. Yes, you will hit your hand 24 percent of the time and he will improve about 20 percent of the time. What you are saying is that 90 percent...

Re: My bustout hand WSOP 2005 (long, probably boring)

No one has mentioned what seat 6 was thinking when he called. Limp reraising a raiser and a reraiser is almost certainly aces or kings. I might have folded if I were in seat 6, even if I was...

Re: my thoughts/math

Your combinations are right but numbers are wrong. You will get 1075 if you win. This will make it just about even.

Re: Quiz: test your EV instinct

Heres my math answer.

37/45 chance we miss and lose 150

break

2/3 chance villan has Ah
8/45 chance we hit

1/4 chance when we hit, villan has flush draw outs

Re: 5--5 .....Did my crap turn into gold?

Move in. If you put him on any ace he's calling. If he's bad he probably didn't bet the flop with a set. He could also try and make a "great" call with a pocket pair.

Re: Results and thoughts

I don't see why you aren't afraid of aces. You should be very afraid of AA-JJ. It just happened he had AK. I would push all 5 hands here. A raise to 3-4K by him does not really accomplish anything...

Re: 25/50 Deep Stack Tricky Hand

Min bet the turn. Call his raise. Push the River. You might want to get drunk before pulling off this move. He will probably put you on a set of jacks if you do this, or maybe the nut flush.

I see nothing wrong with open limping occasionally with AJ on the button when first in the pot. I also don't mind checking a flush draw occasionally as well. This is especially true if you are a...

Re: 1st hand of the WSOP ME, reraised allin pf you have KK. Easy fold?

Why would anyone here call. Sklansky even talks about this situation in his tourney book. The villan will have AA nearly 100 percent of the time. Its ridiculously bad to call here.

Re: WSOP event #6 -- question on KK play

Everyone so far is saying how bad the minraise preflop was. Im not saying its a great play, although here it probably was not the best option. I don't mind a min raise if you are min raising quite a...
