Re: card mechanics

If you're good with cards...then you're good with cards. The deck really doesn't make any sort of difference.

I have spent a long time working on knowing how to slight, so I can always recognize...

Re: Which size cards do you prefer.

I agree. I don't think many people realized that the smaller indexes are still in the corners. I think they were too busy looking at the way the paints are laid out sidways.

I wish they would...

Re: My Tiki Chip Design (link fixed)

Will Chipco do edge text in different colors? This is just another option to throw into the pot:

If you can't decide on an edge spot that you really like (or maybe you want to *include* this...

Re: I want to be a complete Hold Em player, How should I go about doin

I would pull back from the multitable sessions and focus on the players at a single table. Try to play live. In my very opinionated opinion...I think playing live is the best way to become a better...

Re: first 10-20 game

Just play well. When you're at the table, don't think of yourself as a 5-10 player who is looking to step up. Sit with your $1000 (...or whatever you buy in with) and focus on your game.

Re: Which size cards do you prefer.

I have an old set of bridge KEMs with the magnum print. It looks pretty cool. Most of the players really like them.

Re: Hosting Black Jack

I agree...no backing, no cut. F'em.

When I hosted blackjack, $1 minimum $30 max. Every now and then I would let someone make a $50 or $100 bet. Mostly everyone stayed around 1 or 5. I ran it...

Re: Has anyone ever had a good experience with pokerchips.com???

I believe when I ordered mine (about 5 years ago) I got the full custom chips delivered in about 2 1/2 months from the day I called. Again...this is 5 years ago, well before the huge boom, and...

Re: Securing common chips for home cash game.

I would say hot stamping might be your best bet. If you can't do it...there should be someone decent in the area that should be able to hot stamp. Any bar/gameroom store should be able to do it.

Re: How would you react?

I would react by playing in a real game. If someone owes you money...make them pay, by one way or another. (I will let you read into that, however you like...) Tell those guys to shove it.

Damaged KEMs...damn.

Just opened a new deck of KEMs today, and the As is damaged. It looks like it was miscut, and it has a sliver cut into the one corner. Makes it very noticeable and got hung up on the first shuffle....

Re: Need opinion on these mockups.

I think they look great. Very clear, easy to read, and classic look.

<personal preference>
I would use pink (or another color) for the $2 chip.

Re: Rules dealing w/ those who show their hands early.

This happened at a table I was at about 6 years ago. It was pretty low limit (5/10, I believe).

There were four players in the hand. The last player to act flipped his cards over after the turn....

Re: NEVER use USPS

I agree that it's not the USPS's fault that you had stuff shippped to your business. That's what your home is for. Even if you have a PO box...it's the Post Office, they will hold if for you.

Re: Photoshop elements question

Use your grid or rulers. If that doesn't give you the look you are after, grab the object and center it yourself.

Re: Design review for the Pharaoh\'s Club Paulson chips

Number two does it for me, as well.

1. I like the traditional style
2. I like the font (reminds me of vintage Vegas)
3. I like the rounded edges of the hexagon
4. I like the colors of the...

Re: What is the highest limit you have ever played?

I'm a little suprised at how the limits change between live and online. I expected there to be a level, or two...but seeing something like "15/30 live, 1/2 online" is a bit weird.

I never really...
