Re: LA Poker Room advice

Yeah, the 9-18 at Commerce is great. You should go there, have your buddy play the 4-8, and you can play the 9-18.

Re: LA Poker Room advice

If you're looking for soft 6-12 games, I think nothing beats Hollywood Park. I've played 6-12 at Hustler and Commerce about 3 times each, and every time it's been significantly tighter than your...

Re: Lowest beatable limit?

[ QUOTE ]

1) We need a set of stakes online that's comparable to the Commerce 2/4. I use Commerce because that's where I play while I'm at school. I opted for using 0.50/1. Maybe 1/2 would be...

Re: Exact Procedure for booking a Poker Room Rate and Clearing it.

I am NOT recommending breaking any laws.

That said, I never had to show any ID to get into Excalibur's comp system. They don't issue a player's card, but you just fill out a form with your home...

Re: Bad colluders

I don't speak modern Greek, but that's sure Greek-looking. You'd probably have to write it in the right alphabet to get a translation.

Re: 1-2NL Tropicana, I told Him To CHOP!!

[ QUOTE ]

Quote:
What's puzzing to me is why, even in these games, the SB inevitably *asks* the BB, "are we chopping?" or "ya wanna chop?" He might as well ask the BB, "Do you mind if I...

Re: 1-2NL Tropicana, I told Him To CHOP!!

At Hollywood Park 3-6, the table collection is $1 even when the blinds "chop". The SB is $1, so when the small blind says "chop," then the dealer takes the SB, drops it in the rake, and lets the BB...

Re: check top pair on the button? (first time posting a hand)

Against 4-5 other players, I bet this flop every time. Being this passive is really not typical for me at all--I posted it because I was so embarrassed at how passive it came out.

I thought that...

check top pair on the button? (first time posting a hand)

I am unsure of my decisions on all streets here, but there aren't other lines I like much better. I was planning to bet or raise the turn if a good card came, but chickened out when there was a...

Re: Shuffle Macnines Going into Top Section at Commerce

Strange as it may seem, I think that having an automatic shuffler at a table *does* alleviate dealer abuse. People complain less about the dealer, and it all but puts an end to asking to change the...

Re: poor play?

I can't see how betting the river is right. It's not likely that your oppoenent would call with a hand that you can beat.

Might as well check-call, and sometimes you'll check someone trying to...

Re: Too passive here?

I probably wouldn't raise the flop, but maybe I should.

However, I would certainly raise the turn. I figure at that point that I am going to call down the "slightly loose, slightly aggressive"...
