Re: Hand check-up

I probably would have bet a bit more on the flop, 400 or so. Then shut down on the river. He's not going away, and I can't put him on anything but a Queen or a flush (most likely a queen).

Re: Help me off the ledge.

The problem with all that is.. you're dealing with a demonstrated lunatic. He might have folded to a larger bet, but I doubt it, because he had a King... A KING! Nothing beats a KING! (except an...

Re: expert play ? QQ

More of a question than a comment.

At the river you're getting 17 to 1. Odds are good that the BB, that ace chasing loser, just caught. But are they better than or worse than 17 to 1?

Ed...

Re: More 2nd Pair Confusion

[ QUOTE ]
Just because they called on the flop doesn't mean that they have something. My problem is that we are playing against people who love to call you with weak hands. Bet your strong hands...

Re: More 2nd Pair Confusion

[ QUOTE ]
I don't like it. The flop is gutshottish and two toned. The KT should be right in UTGs happy zone. A bet with AT would be fine here, but he is too likely to have a hand like JT or QJ or T9...

Re: More 2nd Pair Confusion

I like the flop bet. No reason to think the BB has anything, and the button may have missed.

However, when he reraises, he's either got a King or a Ten with a better kicker than yours, maybe a...

Re: Lev 2 hand reading

You're getting 3 to 1 with 3 or possibly 4 outs. (3x 5 + possibly 1x 8.) How is that good odds, or am I missing something?

Re: Lev 2 hand reading

I'm far from a 109er, so I may be way off base, but why call the flop bet? What card can you catch on the turn that's going to keep you in?

Minraise PF, so could be a middle pair, a big hand, or...

Re: Anyone ever FLOPPED a royal b4?

I flopped a Royal once. It was at a table full of people who felt that no street should be be left unbet. And yet, this time they all checked to the river. I couldn't get any action. Nada.

Re: Full Tilt Poker 100% cashback promotion

I haven't done your calculations about the points, All I did was work out the 16.5 points to a dollar and left it at that. However, I've looked at the site at various times, and I don't think I've...

Re: comments on tourney hand

So there's an ante.. but what are the blinds. What are the chip stacks of all involved. How much were the bets and the raises? Or was this a limit tourney?

Incomplete info.

Re: Button Response to Blind aggression

Imagine yourself as the guy with the shorter stack, and it becomes clearer.

It's harder to commit all your chips before the flop with anything but the best hands. Even if, practically speaking,...

Re: Button Response to Blind aggression

not close to bubble time. Never mind then. Let them duel it out. End result is either one less player or 1200, 700 as the stacks to your left, with you at 1700.

Re: Button Response to Blind aggression

Well, with 15 left how many get paid? What's the biggest stack in the tourney right now?

My gut says that this is a call. Not so much because of the pot odds, or even because of a read on the...

Re: Glin\'s Big Win -- Post 2, Final Table [LONG]

I understand that you're being constructive and do appreciate it. I definitely didn't consider his pot odds at the time, and didn't do it again when reviewing the hand. So that's something to watch.

Re: Glin\'s Big Win -- Post 2, Final Table [LONG]

Your probably right that the though process is flawed, and getting all his chips would be better.

Thing is, I don't know that I could have gotten all his chips. If he called here and the river is...

Glin\'s Big Win -- Post 2, Final Table [LONG]

So here's the final table. This gets long and boring. Thing is they fella I get heads up against is willing to let me blind him out. So I decided to do just that. I felt varying my play could...

Glin\'s Big Win -- Post 1, Tables 1 - 3 [LONG]

Okay, as promised here's a listing of the tournament I won on 1-17-05. It was a $5+.50 buy in a Pokerroom.com. 289 entrants. 1500 chip stacks to start and 10-20 blinds. All hands are numbered for...

Re: I finally got a win! -- low content.

Looks like 5.5 - 1 in favor of seeing the play by play. Okay, I'll post that later this evening. Probably across two posts. First two tables, last two tables.

Re: fold the flop or bet the turn?

[ QUOTE ]
I would put more concern preflop on my read of the UTG limper. He could be limping in hopes the LAG raises to pop back at him. Your smooth call of the raise may have slowed him down. ...

Re: fold the flop or bet the turn?

Well, I'd say your first mistake was a call on the flop. You've got an aggressive player who made a weak PF bet, then a continuation bet on the flop, and you called. What does that tell you? ...

Re: Feigning weakness to induce a call... good or bad?

I don't like the push. You're right that no one is likely to put you on 55 or probably even a 2, BUT they may put you on a big pair and get away from it.

Let's assume they both have overpairs to...

Re: Good or bad push?

I'd say your bet Preflop was weak. If you were going to play it, then put in 150-200. That might have gotten you down to heads up. Alot of people ignore a 2x bet early.

On the flop, you put in...
