Re: Bay 101 and GC (or other Bay Area cardrooms) low limit question

I can't comment on the low limits, but in general, I hope you get there early, as you will probably have a very difficult time getting a seat in a low limit game at either of these clubs on the...

Re: Tax Questions Forum

This has been answered before: Yes, as a US citizen you have to pay taxes on virtually all income, including "overseas" income. This certainly falls into that category. The legality of the enterprise...

Re: Misplayed Every Street?

PF: I don't like the UTG limp with a vulnerable hand like 99, as I wouldn't want to invite a lot of callers with this hand OOP, and I think the hand is easier to play when you come in with a raise....

Re: Lucky Chances switches to Spread Limit

Here's the article I saw in yesterday's SF Examiner:

"Colma hedges bets on gambling ruling
City Council to...

Re: Plasma TV questions

Thanks -- we probably read the same sources, lol, as I also read the material on CNET. Yeah, it seems like both a bargain and the class of the field.

Plasma TV questions

Thinking of replacing our aging 27" CRT with a 42" plasma monitor. Looking at the Panasonic TH-42PWD7UY. It's a no-frills industrial display with no built-in tuner (which is fine) and somewhat...

Re: QQ flop in very large pot

{quote]Did you ready the thread?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I did, and if my less-than-rosy take on the situation is different from the rest of the thread, so be it.

It's a six handed pot on a draw...

Re: QQ flop in very large pot

If the limpers are the sort that would also limp KT or 9T in a full game, I think that further mitigates the value of putting any more money into this pot. You could be drawing completely dead here,...

I really don't like your flop raise at all. What are you trying to accomplish?

No way am I folding the turn. The Laggy UTG could have any king and CO probably has AdKx/KxQd.

Lost...

Thanks for the advice. BTW, I didn't intend to sound whiney in my intro, so apologies if it came across that way.

A blind steal/defense question

I'm playing in a $30/$60 game recently, the game gets short handed (< 6), and I go card dead, especially in the blinds. I mean seriously dead -- the endless parade of 94o, 83o, 45o, and the...

Re: Win rate

Since this is live play in a local casino(s), I think the other considerations are:

1. Are you winning from good players as well as bad? When you win from good players, is it because you played...

Re: 30/60 Stars Hand - Analysis Please

I agree with Schmitty's post that the decisions on the flop and turn appear to be close (river seems like an obvious fold, but we'll get to that.

Re: A good example of a casual mistake.

I don't think this approach is necessarily wrong, but a lot depends on the remaining players.

I would probably take a different line, which is to check the flop with the intent of c/r when it...

Re: another limpreraise

Sure aren't getting any respect for your LRRs. Especially in this case, when you hit an outstanding scare card, and are still bet into.

So what are the SBs raising standards into a field? QQ+,...

Re: vs 2p2er

Jeez -- seems more like he's capping to drop the BB than for value, and he's going to hate his hand if an A or K falls. Maybe an expert can find a fold here, but I think you played it fine. He caught...

Re: 15-30 Raise calling standards out of BB

I like raising AK as much for value as for field limiting purposes -- AK is a money maker, and I like to get as much value as I can with it. Sometimes, for deception, I might just call behind an...

Re: Questions For Consistently Profitable Players

As others have said, you can reduce limit holdem to a few key concepts:

1) Play good cards, especially when you are starting out, as it makes almost all other decisions a lot clearer/easier....
