How do I get really good at this?

Hi...been lurking on this board for about a week, I follow the aleo 11 strategy guide for playing 11's. I'm doing slightly better than break-even. What book(s) are most helpful for NL SnG's? I've...

Re: A $11 hand that\'s generated some discussion

Turn line looks good.

River...if he pushes -- with your description, QJ is certainly a possibility. Obviously, he could also have a higher 2 (seems unlikely) or T9 (real possibility) or 88 (seems...

Re: Popup message from Eurobet on PE

No, I didn't - sorry. Thought about it too late (was 4-tabling at the time) and don't wish to see the message again.

Popup message from Eurobet on PE

I know there's a back-and-forth war on these boards about the use, advantages (or disads, as some would claim), and ethicality of PE. I'm not posting for another debate on that subject. I've used...

Re: 10+1 KT 5-handed. responding to push...

IF he's pushing the hands you give him credit for pushing...you're still behind more than you're ahead.

AA-KK: You're dominated badly
AK: You're dominated badly
AQ-AJ: You're in bad shape
AT:...

Re: Weird river, what do you do?

Sadly, you fold. Sucks...but it happens -- you're beaten here a mind-boggling percentage of the time...certainly by MP2 with a PFA of 0.6, now after calling all the way down he's raising the river...

Re: Turn spew?

Yeah, this sure looks like spewing to me. I've never found limp re-raises at this level to be anything but AA, KK, or sometimes QQ...except when you have a maniac on tilt. What are you protecting...

Re: AA flops set against LAG HU

I'd gladly cap every single street every single time against all but the best 2/4 opponents...VERY gladly against this guy. Not knowing exactly how much action you can expect, I don't necessarily...

Re: I need to drop to .5/1 : Misplayed Every Street?

You did, in fact, misplay every street.

RE-RAISE for God's sake preflop. This guy raises 9 percent of his hands...he could be on AQ, AJs, ATs, KQs, KJs...so not only is it a value re-raise, but...

Re: AKs gets turn checkraised.

I think you have to call him down on principle, here. He's a 50 VPIP, and with that VPIP a PFA of 1.5 is pretty aggressive. He could just as easily have a couple of tens as something like A9 or 55....

Re: KQ makes TP on Flush Board HU

3-bet the flop, lead out the turn -- call a raise to a non-diamond, call a river with a non-diamond.

Re: 2nd Nuts

Umm...raise...and then raise again and again and again and then maybe call. If UTG shows you 79 then that really sucks. I bet he turns over KT or T8, personally. But you certainly have to 3-bet...

Who the hell is that, btw?

I'm not laying down that overpair, either...but I'm very mediocre.

3 Questions from a STT Noob

I've been an on/off poster in the SSHE forum for a little while, and I've been working as a SS semi-pro for a few months, with reasonable amounts of success (enough to pay the bills, but no more). ...

Re: AA donks turn and raises river . . 3-bet?

Turn bet indicates he made his flush and thinks you don't have one. I'd re-raise here and call a cap -- against a good player, I'd probably just call the river. I'm guessing he turns over a...

Re: $3/$6 am I way off base here???

Villain thinks he's good...but he didn't raise PF. That means he's either on AA or KK (and didn't want to risk no action) or he's on 88 or 99...or I suppose could be on a set of 3's or 4's. In any...

Re: AQs Coldcall Crazy

Considering that CO seems like a reasonably good player, leading out the turn was probably wise. You've called 2 cold on the flop and turn, so clearly indicating you're on a draw. The fact that the...

Re: Hmm overcards are simple right?

Wouldn't this be a time to fold? I mean, assuming either player has anything at all, you're drawing to 6 outs if you're lucky. Maybe you can value those at 4 outs (in which case you're 10.5-to-1). ...

When it's 3-bet back to you, call. When you lead out that turn and get raised again, I think you're folding. What does he have that you're beating? Absent a read telling you this guy is...
