Re: On Solid Ground Here, Right?

[ QUOTE ]
How can you have a solid read on any opponent in a $5 SNG?

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually, as a newbie, I often have a better read at the lower limits. Certain opponents play very...

Re: On Solid Ground Here, Right?

[ QUOTE ]
Not pushing there would be very bad.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thank you. Still a newb and I haven't yet read HoH, so I need to double-check from time to time. Thanks for suffering through the...

On Solid Ground Here, Right?

I'm still a relative newbie, so I've been playing 5+.50 on PR. Game one, I have a solid read on my opponent as having an over-pair to a junk board, while I hold a set. I push, he calls, and spikes...

Re: A set, a scare card, and a check raise

Villain just called you pre-flop, but with that board, you have got to put at least a 3x pot bet in on the flop. There are too many draws available and you can't have gutshots, flush draws, and FH...

Re: Semibluff push SB vs. button

[ QUOTE ]
I am not really risking 9.5K. Against most pps, I lose an average of 5.3K. Against 2 higher cards, I lose an average of 1K. I don't know if 22-55 would call, but I am ahead against those...

Re: Play Along Please - AKs early in MTT

Push 'em all. You might just put in a decent bet if you think he'll really believe you only have two pair and call you, but I actually think he's less likely to believe you if you just push as...

1) BB checks. What's your move?

[/ QUOTE ]

Pot is roughly 1800, you have 4100 in your stack. I put in about a 1/2-3/4 pot bet. Make the...

Re: Heads up hand I question.

[ QUOTE ]
This is an easy checkraise on that first hand right?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, easy check-raise against the uber-aggressive you describe. He's very unlikely to check it through heads-up with...

Re: AK suited vs. ridiculous overbet...Super Monday

If you think he has JJ, why fold? I'd be all in in a heartbeat if I put him on JJ, dead money in the pot...

Maybe I'm not understanding something crucial here. Your hand...

Re: Late Blind Defense in $20 MTT

[ QUOTE ]
Well, I meant that I would push on the flop, since it didn't occur to me that I could give the flop back.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't understand what you mean here. I was asking if you would...

Re: Late Blind Defense in $20 MTT

[ QUOTE ]
Against an aggressive blind stealer, I go for broke with this one.

[/ QUOTE ]

Does that mean you would push PF, or only after you see the first three?

Late Blind Defense in $20 MTT

I played in the Online Relief tourney on PokerRoom (yeah, yeah, I know) this weekend, and ran into a hand I wasn't sure how to handle. I've been at this table for about a half hour, and I've had a...

Re: Pokerroom vs. Party rake analysis at $2/$4 (Pokerrom 73% higher!)

[ QUOTE ]
FWIW, it costs the average player 1.4bb/100 over the Party structure!

[/ QUOTE ]

Can you please explain how you arrived at that figure? I'm not questioning the conclusion,...

Re: PokerRoom.com Rake Structure Information

[ QUOTE ]
To reiterate what others have said so well, just in case you come back to this thread.

1) Pokerroom software is not very good (I'm being polite)

2) Pokerroom bonuses are not...

Re: New Pokerroom Rate Structure?

[ QUOTE ]
Hmm... they seem to have increased the % but lowered the cap. Since the max cap is still $3 (as previous) but also not more than one big blind this should mean a lower rake at lower limits...

You have some titanium balls to check raise 6's with that flop.

Am I a moron?

PokerRoom $10-1 MTT, 230+ players at start, down to about 60. Top 20 pays. I'm about 40th position overall, with roughly 4400 chips. Villain is button and overall chip leader with 20K. Blinds are...

Re: should i cap this river?

Heck, this is PokerRoom. It's +EV to make sure villain stays in the hand just to draw to the Royal. PokerRoom pays a $200 bonus for that hand, but they don't pay if villain folds before you hit it.

Re: alright. AK from blinds

Newbie posting without looking at the other responses.

Hand 1: Re-raise that flop. If he caps, then you can suspect trips and check-call. If he calls, bet the turn and river.

Hand 2: Not sure...

Re: Is this a spot to wait for the turn to raise?

[ QUOTE ]
Any spade, A/K/Q/5/7/8/T on the turn will likely effect my pot equity and facing all opponents with 2BB will give them poor odds to call. So I was wondering if this was a case where it...

If you are so convinced you are correct, why did you post the hand? Seems to me you should pat yourself on the back and be done with it.

Yes, villain had AA, and I had indeed cracked his set. I should have capped the river.

Thanks, all.

Re: Mid PPs in LP vs EP raiser

Newbie question: If you are going to raise him under these parameters, why does it matter if you hold 77 or 99? Under these conditions, aren't we pretty much assuming that raiser has two cards of...
