Re: Folding small blind so you can steal later

"...Calling becuse you think you are getting 3:1 odds is just bad IMO."

dan harrington would disagree with you. in the last 2 chapters of "harrington on holdem #2" , he repeatedly makes the...

Re: $55 - Ballsy? Stupid? Stupid Balls?

Re: Folding small blind so you can steal later

hello donk,

first of all let me say i am far from an expert on this topic and am happy to hear other's, better, informed views. my problem with this "standard" move is, it isn't consistent with...

Re: Folding small blind so you can steal later

isn't folding any hand to a random hand (and that's what the BB has as far as we are concerned from the SB) a mathematical error since the SB is getting 3:1 odds on his call ???

i mean the worst...

Re: player or plumber ???

hello ace,

first of all, thanks for the reply. much appreciated. your reasoning is sound, but a couple of questions :

you asked why i thought he'd fold top pair, and i didn't think he would,...

an interesting hand for me today in a $50 buy in nl tourney with 430 players. top 50 get paid $125 and up.

in the middle of the second hour with ~ 140 players left i have 2700 with the blinds @...

Re: River decision after your turn CR is called

i have a totally different spin on this hand and please correct me on my logic if you differ.

to me, the salient point in this hand is the villan's mini raise with 2 spades clearly on the board....

Re: Wynn 2-5 Live Game

personally, i don't like this line.

your check-calls of his flop and turn bets reek of slowplaying a set. you'll never get all his money on the river if he's awake.

i think a better line is to...

Re: Flopped the 2nd nut straight vs imposing 2+2 player

you certainly had to take a look at the flop, but being in the bb didn't compell you to re raise to $220 putting almost half your stack in that pot, total.

it just looks like you wilted when the...

Re: Flopped the 2nd nut straight vs imposing 2+2 player

hello garland,

an interesting hand and i have only one real comment/criticism of your play : what's the point of playing a one-gapped connector if when you hit the absolute miracle flop dead on...

Re: Prima 5/10 Thoughts on this KJs hand?

if you were concerned with the villain having the nuts, did you consider checking the river with the already substantial pot ???

i don't see what the villain gains by showing you his cards...

Re: Prima 5/10 Thoughts on this KJs hand?

tough way to lose, but keep playing with him cuz if he keeps calling turn bets w/o the odds on a draw, you'll own him in the long run.

Re: Prima 5/10 Thoughts on this KJs hand?

i cannot fold this hand on the river.

the villan's play could easily be with pocket jacks rather than AcXc or 8c6c. he called a bet pre flop from the bb, he checked/called when an over card and a...

Re: pot control or value bet? - AA 5/10

sort of "exhibit a" for playing brunson's style of limping with AA , KK.

of course, villain would have been sorry if you had KK rather than AA and you could have played it in similar fashion.

are you serious. you got in ALL your money against a 1 outter. don't worry about it because honestly it's a bad beat. honestly, if the turn comes and you have Queens full of 10s, are you that worried...

Re: Aint No Holla Back Girl

Hand #1: In a multiway pot with a big drawing board, I would ALWAYS bet or raise with bottom set to see where I was and narrow the field. Mulitway hands are bad spots to be trapping. Even if he has...

i really don't like the way the hero plays this hand.

in super system 2, brunson make a very big point saying with AA or KK you will generally either win a little or lose a lot,...

Re: 5/10 NL, 55 in the SB

i think this is an easy call if you are not afraid to gamble.

first, its impossible to put the BB maniac on any hand, since an agressive player who lead out pre flop is expected to make a...
