Re: I\'m moving down (LC)

i think you can play these better--
1)raise less w/ AJ, fold flop
2)fold river
3)i often like to raise that flop to get $ out of AK

Re: Preflop: raise aces gets reraised, what now?

I really only like calling if i can confidently narrow his hand range to AK, QQ, KK. Then get $ in on the flop, as others have said. But I don't trap enough...Does the fact that he just sat down...

Re: QQ NL 1K

Since reasonable club draws can include overcards, I basically never check this turn...I think folding to the CR is fine/std, but during the hand I didn't think he'd flopped a set.

Re: QQ NL 1K

My friend who is quite good (ie better than me) was trying to convince me that in this spot villain will often hold some kind of combo draw.

I think a lot of cards can kill action for the...

QQ NL 1K

Villain is unknown. Haven't seen him step out of line, or play many pots yet. I've also been playing fairly abc, doubled up with a set of 4s a few hands earlier.

villain (1K) limps utg, I make it...

Seems like your turn play is -EV then, as apart from a 6 or maybe a 7, nothing else is going to allow to you win the hand.

Re: Another sanity check 5/10

Let's assume he has the straight every time. If you push (not necessarily optimal) EV= .35(650+785)-.65(950)= -115
So if he has the straight, moving in is -EV, but not by so much. IF he will call...

Thanks for the response.

i got that part, but how did you make the graph itself? Can you do it through PT, or do you have to use excel or something?

Re: Bottom set from blind fills on river...your move

Based on this action, button limp and the turn reraise, I think QJ is villain's most likely holding. 77 is possible, as is badly played 67s. So the river may have made you a second best hand. (In...

I agree that this is a pretty good spot for a value bet, but there's something about this logic that I find a bit confusing. Say Villain has KQc or 78c, or even JJ, hands which hit the river big. ...

Re: 3/6 NL-bottom set, multi-way pot

results aside, why is everyone so afraid of button's reraise? Hero checked, CO bet less than 1/2 pot, button is 2pair or even AK fair amount of the time, or am I missing something? Easy push.

Re: Commerce 10/20 - Unexciting Fold

At first glance, it seems like if you're going to make the smoothcall preflop, you can't really afford to fold in this situation. You're in position, with a big, concealed hand. 2 factors make this...
