Re: (PS $6.50 Turbo) ATs: TPTK

Avoid this mess by folding pre-flop.

I would also avoid the mess by checking the flop and being ready to fold if there is much action.

Search the forum for a basic strategy guide for early...

Re: $22: Standard with AK?

[ QUOTE ]
Why not just put in a pot sized bet instead of pushing?

[/ QUOTE ]

Agree - and then shut your eyes and push the turn.

Re: $16 Turbo Misplayed a Set

After the flop, either make a larger bet or C/R. There are about 15 cards on the turn that will scare the crap out you.

I seem to remember you 4-tabling the 16's several months ago.

Between...

Re: Push the turn?

No.

If you want to take a stab on the turn, bet 300. I'd check the turn. Just too many opponents to get involved in this one.

Re: 6.5$ flop straight push turn?

Other than playing the hand pre-flop, I think you played it fine.

Re: Stars $27, Overpair in a raised pot

I would fold this preflop because I don't want to take on the other big stack in this situation. Since you called, I would put in a raise that would pot committ you and your opponent after the flop....

Re: $16 turbo 99 from SB on bubble

99 does quite well in this situation, but not worth the risk vs. a somewhat passive big stack. Fold and look to attack the other two opponents. FWIW, I would call either of the other two opponets...

Re: Anyone call this cocky guy?

Yeh, I realize I just donated to his stack. The problem was that shorty is so short, and I didn't want to bust in 4th.
I don't know if my stategy of waiting for shorty to bust is good, or...

Re: Anyone call this cocky guy?

Push pre-flop. That min-raise is just inviting the big stack to come over the top of you. Given the action, I would call the push.

Re: VP$IP and Preflop Raising %

For Stars, 20 VPIP / 13 PFR is fine for an overall rate, but that is a bit confusing. You want to be tight early (12 VPIP) and open up your game as the blinds go up and players are eliminated. By...

Re: ($10) AA hand, played correctly?

Looks good. I like the large pre-flop raise to limit the field.

Re: ($16) ATo from the CO

I'd fold. You have 6 minutes until the BB hits T400, plenty of time to wait for a better spot.

Re: $10+1 - TT facing a raise

Looks good. I'd call with 88+ and AJ+. Since Villian had already shown down some less than premium hands, his pushing range may be a little wider than you anticipate.

Re: Call with AQo?

A little more info like stack sizes, poker site, etc, would be helpful.

I don't mind going to battle after this flop vs one opponent, but not vs two. In order, on the flop I would:

Fold
Push...

Re: do i push this???

I'd push AJ and fold A9. 9 handed I'm probably folding A-10. 7-8 handed I'd push.

Re: Pushing with top pair? ($11)

Your line looks good. No sense pushing preflop and flipping a coin with the bigstack when UTG has 600 chips. Once you hit top pair on the flop I would auto push. You don't have enough chips for a...

Re: $22 TPTK -- Nut flush draw how\'s the line

Easy call for me.

I would also put a little more steam behind your flop check/raise to get the pot a bit bigger before you push the turn. I would raise a bit more pre-flop as well.

Pokerstars $15 Turbos, Levels 5-7

I have 33,000 hands from Level 5 (150 BB) at the Pokerstars $15 turbos. I'm a slightly negative player at this level, probably because I'm way too tight. Also slightly negative at Level 4. At...
