Re: ROI single table tourneys VS ring games
Just a few thoughts about tournament ROI vs ring games... I'm sure there is nothing new in what I'm going to say but here you go...
The conventional wisdom seems to indicate that a good SNG player...

Re: Guess my opponent\'s hand
well just on the basis his hand supposedly makes no sense... I'll go for 97 or 97s... for the nuts straight that he forgot to bet on the river

What is the gap concept?
I haven't read any tournament related books, but I've seen people mentioning this "gap concept". Could someone throw in a couple of words of wisdom on it please? I assume it's linked to the payout...

Re: Playing AQo according to HEFAP?
Hi Dynasty,
I'm sorry, I think there might be a misunderstanding here (probably due to the misleading/badly chosen title for my post)...

Re: A few hands for comment
hand 1: I'll fold after a bettor and a caller... You've got to think you're up against a T at best, therefore you've got 2 outs (would you raise a pair of deuces in that position)
hand 2: I'll bet...

Playing AQo according to HEFAP?
Yesterday this hand came up while playing a loose 1/2 table on Stars. 10 handed, I'm dealt AQo in MP. All players are new to me.
UTG fold, the next three limp, I limp, CO and button limp, sb...

Re: Results
Actually I dont think the big stack call is marginal, he would make a mistake not calling, as he definitely has the odds against any cards (apart from AK, AA, KK and QQ). From his point of view, if...

what is the hand most dangerous hand?
by reading all the post here in the tournament section, it looks like some hands are very often responsible for busting people out (AK springs to mind). So I was just curious about having a survey on...

Do player pokers think they\'re smart?
I'll probably get kill straight away, but it seems to me that lots of poker players think they're really smart. really smart people seem to be more difficult to find however.
So instead of asking...

Re: not knowing your opponent, a 5/5 PLH hand
I'm probably wrong here, but I think I would just call... If you bet the max again, he will call you if he's got you beat, and will probably call you as well if he's drawing for the nut flush (I...

Re: Is Ax s worth playing in NL holdem?
I play mainly in NL loose game, not very aggressive, where most of the player will make minimum bet/raise or close to it... therefore you get a great price on your draws. However the implied on a...

Thank you all for your comments/advices... highly appreciated. It's now pretty clear to me that my biggest mistake was trying to steal-semibluff on the flop instead of taking the free card.
