Re: Absolute Poker Performance Problems
Actually I already tried that (or something similar). I constantly pinged their servers during an 1.5 hour session. The ping was at an steady 200 ms (which is somwhat slow but not terrible given that...

Re: An SSH Move Fails Hard
I'm sorry, but I find all streets terrible (not including the pre-flop check which is fine)! I would say other players calling down with weak mid-pairs is the main reason I make money on poker.

Re: Any slow down anywhere here?
I think the turn check-raise is a bit risky. Villain often has a mid pocket pair that he either plan to raise on the turn (for protection) if he is good or plan to call down with (if he is bad). In...

Re: Begging by email
If he is sending the mail to 2000 persons and expect to get money from 10% of them it really is a decent (but not good) scam.

Absolute Poker Performance Problems
Does anyone else experience severe performance problems when playing at Absolute Poker?
I recently played this hand. You might wonder why I folded my set on the flop. I didn't - I raised - but the...

Re: Cashouts to Swedish Bank Accounts
Good point!
But still, sending checks oversees in snail mail seems like stonage technology. And the banks will still add a ton of fees to cash it out. Besides, who are using checks today? Even my...

Re: QQ Horrible flop, bet it anyway?
I think this is an easy check/fold. You don't even have 2 clean outs (since a queen completes a gutshot). You are behind 99% of the time and you will never be able to fold 5 players at .5/1. Save...

Re: Defeated by 1/2 - whining etc
The steam roller betting that works so well at .5/1 doesn't work that well at 1/2. You are going to be trapped to often.
I have suffered a deep downsing at 1/2 and I'm recently starting to recover...

Re: A rivered set and some weird river play.
I think there are too many ifs in your reasoning. A late position bet in a 10 SB pot isn't very scary and it is usually very hard to buy a pot at party .5/1 (which makes these games very profitable)....

Re: A rivered set and some weird river play.
Lol! I've just earned $60 at the party 1/2 tables, so guess playing drunk is not always bad... I was actually looking for a 2+2 table, but I couldn't find any.
I can't recall that I've ever folded...

Re: A rivered set and some weird river play.
The only possible hands that the opponents might like is KK, QQ, 22, AJ, and K2, Q2, T2 (which is less likely, at least for the raiser). That makes TT a pretty good, but not great hand... Maybe I...

Re: A rivered set and some weird river play.
I don't see why you bet the flop. Are you looking for free cards for drawing to your tainted set or do you think the bet will buy the pot?
The river might be worth a crying cap (it will probably...

Bottom pair against two opps...
Should I bother chasing these down?
Both opponents seem to play almost any two cards pre-flop. CO has about 8% pfr and I haven't seen UTG raise yet.
I have seen both players laying down cards...

This was my first session at $2/$4. I had just played a couple of hands so I had no good reads on anyone but the CO, which I had met earlier at $1/$2. He entered about half of his hands PF. I had no...

Re: Party Fears Two
The flop check-raise could be any pair (and probably not an ace). I would just call the raise and try to put in a raise on the turn instead and then bet the river against most players.
