Re: Value betting the river

[ QUOTE ]
Value betting here very much depends on reads on villain. If he is loose-passive enough to call with a worse hand, bet. If not, check behind.

Re: Please help to win at NL50 6 max!

[ QUOTE ]
At NL50 six max your aim should not to be to win lots of small pots. Your aim should be to stack donks with very strong hands. The win many small pots theory requires both superb postflop...

Re: Big Slick, Big Blind

[ QUOTE ]
I don't know how "standard" it is, but I almost always just complete/check on sb/bb with AK because I hate playing it OOP in a big pot. This hand is a pretty good example of this IMO.

I like a call here. His play is very consistent with AA. Your hand is too good to fold (obviously), but his line is too suspect to raise here, IMO.

Re: Flopping the 3rd nut flush...

Yeah - im seeing that now.

I have a LONG way to go.

[/ QUOTE ]

We all have a long way to go, or we'd be playing 50/100NL, not .5/1NL.

Working through these things is helpful...

It wasnt advice. Its an opinion based on my playstyle and expreience. If you figure, there is what... about $20 in the pot - Im not pushing 4x that on a bluff.

Ive seen all sorts of people limp in with KTs and even K9s. I think you're beat. Even if you arent beat, if he has the K or Q /images/graemlins/club.gif you still might lose. I'd fold....

I'd need a good read that tells me I'm ahead for sure before declining my shot at a free showdown. Some of the good things about this board is the pair of fives out there which presumably...

Bet more on the flop. Then you can decide to 3-bet or CR turn, depending on what you prefer. I like a 3-bet since a lot of cards will come on the turn that are scare cards...

Re: Live $2/$5 Non-Standard Set Line

Nice fleshed-out thought process.

How would villain react to you leading into his made hand on the turn? I think there is a fair chance that you will get raised, and be able to get more in there....

Re: Live $2/$5 Non-Standard Set Line

What kind of a raise was the big one you pulled on him before? Was it an AI raise?

I prefer a standard raise here, but I do understand your reasoning, as a standard raise might look too strong.

Well look at it this way, you are ahead of AQ and almost nothing else that is in this hand. Any resistance from villain and you are likely beaten, maybe chopping.

Definitely at least 4 on the flop, maybe even an overbet (if I know villain is maniacal, as they tend to find that insulting). *Put yourself in villains place - You make a strong raise PF, board...
