Re: I get check raised 3 times, no (censored)

Interesting article. It neglects to discuss some of the important advantages to raising in this situation but does make an interesting argument. I guess the situation in the post is the borderline...

Is Party VIP club the only way to get rakeback for existing players?

If you already have an account at Party, is the VIP the only way to get anything resembling rakeback? Are there any other options?

Re: Party PLISTINGS + Pop Up Bonuses

I also received notice of both the PLISTINGS and the pop-up bonus. However, when I tried to deposit using the PLISTINGS code I only got the $100 pop-up bonus instead of the $150. Anyone else have...

Calling an all-in with KK preflop

I have been debating whether to post this hand, as it probably has a stupid answer, but I am new to MTT and I need to know.

I have read most of the posts in the MTT wisdom anthology post about...

Re: KK hu, with no A on board

QJ seems most likely here with AQ a close second. I call.

Re: Marginal holding but am I missing bets?

I agree that betting the flop and folding to a c/r is probably a better play first of all.

However I slightly disagree with this,

Re: Back to the original question..

A slight simplification of this is to find:

(implied pot odds + 1) x (number of outs)

If this is greater than the number of unseen cards then you have odds to call.

Re: Table selection

There is only mathematical evidence to show that if your opponents are making a ton of mistakes and you are not then you are going to profit hugely in the long run.

These are the tables we always...

We are a slight favourite on the flop. By 3-betting we may take the hand right there or we make villain pay an extra bet when we have an equity edge.

I guess using my logic, it is a fold. I guess I could just never see folding a flush here though.

Possibly but he played it an awful lot like a flush draw (most likely better than ours). It is very unlikely that someone ever beats you with a higher flush draw but if we get raised here I do not...

Re: I try buff raising for the first time

I don't understand why we would call a 3-bet and then fold the turn unimproved. Is it not best to fold to the 3-bet. You are almost definately behind if you get 3 bet leaving you with 2 outs.

Re: AA posts are great

Bet. There is a good chance that one or both have a spade after calling that flop, hopefully a high one, meaning you will probably get just as much action here as you would waiting for the river,...

Using PT reads on opponents when you only have a small sample to go by

I have read a lot of posts lately where people are basically saying that when you only have stats for say 20-30 hands on an opponent you should ignore the read and pretend they are the average player...
