Re: Playing the opponents hand and not yours.

I've recently moved up to the $20+2 level, and it's very effective at that level to represent flushes and such when you don't have squat. Any lower, and they'll call no matter what. And I have no...

Re: I got the bug!

You can find lots of threads about this if you use the search function.

The biggest thing is whether or not you are willing/able to replenish your bankroll if you lose all the money in your...

Re: I am still confused about this hand...

I understand that you didn't want to finish 4th, but you are 4th in chips. And if you call the preflop raise and fold to the flop bet when you miss, then 2/3 of the time, you're losing 25% of your...

Re: Bottom 2 pair facing 2 raises

You're way too short to be choosy. I say go with it. You could be drawing dead, but more likely you have at least 4 outs, and there's a decent chance you have the best hand already.

Re: Bubble Problem

So, if I'm reading right, you're already in for 1600 of your 6000 stack? 4400 behind? So, calling would be over 1/3 of your remaining chips. No way you can call here and fold on the flop. Even if you...

Re: AA form BB, 3rd hand; too aggressive?

Looks perfect. Push your chips in now. You'll get called 999 times out of 1000 and double up 800 of them.

Re: \"Putting your tourney life on the line\" is the new \"AK is a drawing ha

I can't believe I'm even taking the time to post on this subject, but here goes...

The most common pattern for poker hands (more so in limit than in no-limit, but common there, too) is where one...

Re: $55s: Yes, there are LOADS of fish!

He could have shown that people were fishy by posting hands he won. He chose to post two hands where he got in with the best and got out-drawn purposely. This was a bad beat post if I've ever seen...

Re: What to do with a Child who plays SNG\'s?

I think what you should do is sit down with a pen and paper and figure out how many hours per week a "normal" kid should engage in different activities, then figure out how many hours per week your...

Re: Team tournaments on Pokerroom

You're gonna want to change the name from "two plus two." They don't like anyone using their trademarked name.

Re: Bet nut flush and people at my table think I played this bad...

While there are a couple of hands he could have that are beating you, more likely 88 or TT than 87, you can't go 'round not betting the nut flush worried about them. If you have this situation 50...

Re: I aint payin\' the Ante.

I only play on PokerStars myself, but my feeling is that the antes really ratchet up the action and reward blind-stealing a lot more. Usually the ante makes it 2.5 BB in the pot before anyone does...

Re: AKs versus large overbet.

I call so fast I sprain my finger.

The only hands I can see someone legitimately making this move with are middle pairs, where he knows overcards are going to flop and he doesn't want to guess...

Re: If you had 30 seconds with Phil Gordon, what would you ask him?

I'd ask "What's the good word?"

And he'd reply, "To hell with Georgia."

Then I'd ask, "How 'bout them dawgs?"

And he'd reply, "Piss on 'em."

Re: What amount do you preflop raise?

As a general rule, I raise 3xBB + 1xBB for each limper ahead of me. Of course, the number of limpers cuts down what hands I actually raise.

My standard preflop reraise is triple the original...

Re: 10 x BB All in or Fold

I'm far from the best player on this board, so take this with a grain of salt...

I don't like pushing there. There are too many people behind you to call. Too good of a chance there is JJ+ back...
