Re: Turned the nuts, villain likes his hand
I would push. If the board pairs on the river, you are in a very tricky situation. And as you said, villain likes his hand alot, which probably means a hand better than at least top pair. There is...

Re: A couple of hands
Hand 1: Fine. FWIW, a sample of 30 hands is probably not enough to judge a player as loose/passive, unless you've seen him play a few good hands in that fashion or limping with trash.
Hand 2: I...

Re: ladbrokes (500nl)
I used to play quite a bit $2.50/$5. I actually haven't seen any really good players at that level, though. Sure there are a couple that probably make some money, but most of them are too passive for...

10/20 - Blind steal
Here's a hand from a couple of minutes ago. BB is a loose calling station and I have no read on SB.
I pick up A /images/graemlins/club.gif3 /images/graemlins/heart.gif on the button. All fold to...

Re: Two 2/4 Hands
What I'm getting at is that the flop has grown big already and we need to maximize our chances to win it. You say
Sure, we might fold /images/graemlins/heart.gifs if the flop bet comes from the...

Re: Two 2/4 Hands
Hand 1: I like it and I would go for the check-raise as well. If you can get your opponent to fold any kind of heart with a checkraise, it's good.
Hand 2: I think the preflop call is close and I...

Re: Rough day, AQo
I really don't like the preflop complete. With UTG in the hand I think you have enough equity for a raise, especially since button just limped in after the very loose UTG.
The river is an easy bet...

Re: Cap this turn?
I like it, especially since he may very well put you on a one-pair hand (AK,AQ,AJ), when you wake up again on the turn.

Re: Fold anywhere?
Fold it. You've shown great strength by raising the flop and still he pops you on the turn. I may even find a fold on the flop, depending on the opponent of course.

Re: Too passive?
I agree that you were too passive here. I think you should check/raise the flop and take it from there.
If I get 3-bet, I'm pretty much committed to see a showdown, even though it is highly...

He is not folding a hand that on that board that you want him to fold.

Too passive?
Ladbrokes 5/10, 6 handed
I pick up K /images/graemlins/club.gifJ /images/graemlins/heart.gif UTG and raise. I get 3-bet by an unknown player in CO and the very loose/passive button cold calls....

Results and thoughts
Hand 1: Everyone advocated folding on this hand, while I actually called thinking that an overbet liked that seemed like a hand that didn't want a call. Possibly two-pair, but in my opinion much more...

3 Overpairs
Here's three quite different overpair hands that all put me in a tough position last night. They were all played on Ladbrokes 2.5/5 at 6-handed tables and a max buy-in of $500.
In the first one I...
