Re: Triple Flop Hold\'Em?

So someone loses a bunch of $$ at holdem, blames it on constant suckouts and bad beat, and, instead of learning how to actually play the game, he goes off and designs his own game where suckouts and...

Re: limp-folding preflop

At the Luxor, they have a $4/$8 game with half blinds. So the big blind is $2, but pre-flop raises are in increments of $4. I think there are situations in this game where it may be correct to...

Re: AC This weekend, say hello if you see me

Quiet, non-descript, mid/late-20's, short brown hair, semi-freckled dude playing 3/6 or 6/12. Probably wearing a dark grey long sleeve t-shirt and jeans. If you see me after 7pm, I will almost...

What games does Borgota offer?

I play at the Taj Mahal just about every weekend, but I'm thinking of getting up a little earlier this Saturday to beat the lines at Borgata. I haven't played there since the summer, and I don't...

Re: ATo heads up against a possible steal

Another non-expert opinion:

I'd 3bet the flop. I think AT is pretty strong against a possible steal. Otherwise I think I play it the same. Maybe I bet the turn, depending on the villian.

Re: Suited connectors vs offsuit broadways

The big advantages mid-suited-connectors have over offsuit broadway are
1) their suitedness
2) they make more straights

These two characteristics make them much better in multiway pots, which if...

Re: Limit Holdem: raising all ins & HU caps - very basic stuff

No $7? Sorry to be so thick.

Is it the same on 5th street?

Re: Limit Holdem: raising all ins & HU caps - very basic stuff

I'm going to attempt to generalize this. Please tell me if this is correct.

If there are more than two players in when it is 3-bet, regardless of how many players call for 3 bets, the betting is...

Re: Limit Holdem: raising all ins & HU caps - very basic stuff

Thanks for the reply. Just to be clear; $3/$6, 4th street, UTG is first to act and OPENS with $1 (all-in). I'm next. I can make it $7 to go?

This exact situation occurred a couple weeks ago...

Limit Holdem: raising all ins & HU caps - very basic stuff

Ok, I've been playing live in AC for a while now, and I thought I understood all this stuff. But last weekend I saw a few things which lead me to question my grasp of some of the basics.

These...

Re: Another River Question...

I agree with what you wrote. Though you didn't mention my other opponent, and there was no way in hell villian2 would be clever enough to checkraise me. This guy was unbelievable.

Here's what...

Another River Question...

This hand came up last weekend at the Taj. 3/6. Table is generally loose passive. Lots of people calling the flop and folding the turn. Kinda nice. Though I managed to lose AA to 52o AND 53o...

Another river question...

This hand happened a while ago, so I don't remember all the details. Ignore that I probably made some big mistakes before the river. Sorry if this is hard to read.

Live 3/6. I hold QQ in MP. ...

A set with a four flush on the board

Live 3-6 at the Taj. Villian is fairly tight and fairly aggressive (not extreme in either case) and seems generally solid all around.

I'm MP1 with 99. I open raise. Villian (2 seats to my...

Re: Big blind baby flush

Actually, after re-reading, this hand is too dumb to post. I've removed it to spare myself some dignity.

Re: Sngs at Partypoker.

The $5+1 mainly suck because the entry fee kills your RIO by 10%. I also think the difference in players is much greater between $5 vs $10 SNGs than it is at $10 vs $20.

Re: Most Pathetic SnG Ever

How do the payouts work if you both get taken out in that hand? Who gets second & who gets third?

Re: flopped top two pair, pre-flop raiser to my left, how to maximize

For me, this is a situation when my opponents would really determine my action on the flop. The reason I'd go for a check raise is that it shows more strength than betting out and would be more...

Re: flopped top two pair, pre-flop raiser to my left, how to maximize

Is 2 pair on this board a slowplaying hand? There are a lot of scary cards left in the deck. I guess given the preflop action, you're probably up against big pairs or AK, but with no reads I'd still...

Re: Hand Selection Question: Small Blind in $3/$6

Does it make sense to think about it like this?

Your pot equity increases by 3/2 because you're only callng 2/3 of the bet.

Re: A fairly common JJ situation.

What if there are more players calling you down?

I've been in a lot of situations like this where there aren't really any draws, but I get 3-4 passive players calling me down.

If I'm in...

Re: QQ - stop and go

I 3bet the flop and bet out on the turn. I think with a board like this you need to be careful not to give any free cards.

And I don't like the check raise with two 9's showing. I think it costs...

Re: JJ - capped PF, 4 handed til river.

I think you're pretty clearly beat, but I guess its tough to lay down 17-1.

Why no turn bet? Afraid of CR?
