Re: Trip aces in a tough spot, easy fold?

I need a read to make this call, and a lot of the times I do. Looks like he's afraid of the third spade with his trips.

I hate the pf raise, your hand is speculative, and can flop big and stack...

Re: KK OOP on an AQ flop

Lately I've been making my reraises in these positions bigger because opponents take you for stealing a lot. I would go like 30-35 here, but it doesn't really factor into the hand. Villian raises...

Re: funky funky

Helps to have reads in a hand like this. I like to raise pf here because AJo doesn't play very well multi-way and most of the time you'll pick up that pot. The disadvantage is that if you hit an ace...

Re: 99 vs shortstack poster

Pot is about half his stack on the flop. Your hand is so inbetween that I think it's really hard to get away from. I think raising does the whole folds out better hands, so I probably call that...

2+2 Table?

Would anyone play in one now? If so I'll make one.

Re: $50, Big Sem-Bluff Early

KJo is a pretty standard fold pf? Good to know. What about KJs or KQo? In that early/middle position what do you need to raise

On the flop, I'm going for the check/raise because i think he'll just...

What's a different kind of line to take here? Is that line better?

$50, Big Sem-Bluff Early

Just got to the table, no reads.
I'm really pretty clueless to MTT's, so go after me if you don't mind.

Re: QQ 200NL

You're ahead of villian's range on the turn. C/R all in is what i'd do there sometimes. Reraising this hand pf is huge. I'd bet like 25 on the flop.

Re: PP $200 - River play with boat

Push, I go broke here to a better hand.

I don't like checking here because if he knows what he's doing he knows you're almost pot committed. I guess if you think checking gets action from missed...

Re: Party 200: set on a tough flop

Push it.

This is not the time to fold a set. You'll see two big clubs or an overpair here a lot.

Re: 98s.

I think adding your own thoughts in the OP help spurn a good discussion about the deeper parts of the hand.

So PT tells us this guy is really tight. Is this a weak lead on the flop, or standard?...

Re: 99 - Fold or call river?

Call. We know he doesn't have the As, so that reduces the amount of hands that would be drawing to a flush. With those stats, it's probably only KQs, maybe KJs or JQs. The times he has a bigger set,...

Re: slowplay 200NL

Typically, I like to call flop and raise turn, probably at that point a push.

With this hand I would raise the flop actually, because it really looks like SB's got a hand he's trying to protect.

Re: A situation I loathe

[ QUOTE ]
Fold. No way you can figure out if your hand is good without putting your whole stack in the pot.

You're most likely barely ahead or way behind.

Reverse implied odds are a bitch.

Re: A situation I loathe

where do you play 1-3?

The hands your worried about here are J10,44 and AXc. I think if he's LAG, 1010,JJ, are raised before the flop. It's difficult to imagine him limping and calling a raise...

Re: Calling an over-bet with A-high?

I think calling here is pretty bad. I think calling the flop isn't' bad, but his bet on the turn makes it look like he just wants to see another card. Raise there, he'll fold a ton of hands, and...

Re: Chatting it Up

Ya, I'm not really worried about the flop. Saying super-lag is probably a stretch and misleading. Button bets 100% of the time it's checked to him. Not just in these sort of situations, but every...

Re: Chatting it Up

The more I think about this, the more I am hating myself for this fold. Does anyone know how to do the EV calculations that would find out how much villian has to have the straight here?

I'll try...

Chatting it Up

Villian is pretty straightforward ABC. Tight preflop, aggressive when he hits. Button is a super-lag, and I was going for the big check raise on the flop.

I'm going to include some of Villian's...

Re: opinion time -- how weak will you call

Probably just a queen. I haven't shown any real strength, and theres a good chance he's just trying to take it away. A flush draw bluffs here most all the time. A steaming player makes the big bets....

Re: man i feel like i gotta bet/raise SOMEWHERE here

Those few hands make the difference. No better hands are folding here because no better hands check both the turn and the river. You're not up against a better hand here, so a bet is good. I get...
