Re: call to MAYBE chop?

If he donks with any piece of the flop he's aggressive enough to bluff at the river when people have shown such weakness the whole way. To me his play reminds me of people who limp raise with medium...

Re: I know I misplayed these QQs, but how?

No, the thought shouldn't cross your mind. This pot is huge, no one is calling down that far with 35s, checking the river and then folding when it's 2 back to them. Check call or bet call.

Re: I know I misplayed these QQs, but how?

With that many people in the pot do you think that they'll be making a mistake to take peel a card off on the turn even with 1 overcard to your queens? You aren't forcing them into a mistake on the...

Re: Negreanu\'s Folly?

You aren't saying anything that Negreanu would disagree with, you're just looking at it from a different perspective. He was making the point that it's easier to make the right decision when you...

Re: UI overs against donkbet?

I can't let this one go, villain is a TAG, if he's smart he knows that you're going to do a continuation bet heads up if he checks, he should go for a check raise if he hit top pair. Instead he bets...

Re: Is the absurd rake beatable at my local casino\'s 1-2 NL?

That's a terrible rake, that comes out to like 20BB/100 hands that they take. With absolutely abysmal play from your opponents like you describe it would be possible to beat it, but if they have the...

Re: So here\'s a crappy spot.

I'm confused, am I the only one who sees that Hero has 66 with 4 overcards on the board?

Re: Lay down AA to HUGE overraise???

The best thing to do when an opponent does something like this is to try to put yourself into your shoes and think about what he thinks that YOU have. You raised substantially preflop in what looks...

Early in a sng

Got two high suited cards hands which I feel like I botched, I always get attached to my 1 pair hands when I hit and I'm being faced with my tournament life. Anyone got any specific suggestions for...

Re: Balance between cheap cards and pot building with marginal hands

Point taken, I guess that I have more leaks than I thought. But this doesn't really address the concept that I'm trying to fix, maybe another hand with less preflop issues would better illustrate my...

Balance between cheap cards and pot building with marginal hands

I'm having a lot of trouble balancing the two concepts of not giving cheap cards when I'm likely to be ahead and building big pots with marginal hands. I tend to be deathly afraid of giving cheap...

Oh sweet, action...oh crap, too much.

I often lose my stack with pretty good hands that are still far from the nuts, does anyone have another line that they can suggest to make the maximum when ahead and lose the minimum when behind?

Re: Stop and go against the world\'s tightest player.

You've had 55 hands against him, and he's only played 6 percent(meaning about 3 hands), you think the fact that you've never seen him bet before in those 3 hands is enough to warrant folding an...

I think you missed some of the tongue in cheek humor, it's just a goofy play that he made based on a hunch and it worked out, now he's posting for his own and our amusement. I think he clearly knows...

Collusion, stupidity, or otherwise?

I'm new to shorthanded, so I don't know if this type of thing is normal, but I have never seen something that just makes me shake my head in amazement as much as this. It just doesn't make any sense...

when you are IN POSITION

[/ QUOTE ]

It's hard to check raise in position, if there's ever a good spot to check raise it's when you're out of position.

Re: JTs, reviewing the river

Only AJ and AA beat you, there's no reason to give him credit for these. The river completes a lot of draws, both KQ straight and a flush, although I don't know why he'd check raise the turn with...

I think Ed's training wheels post (http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=495010&page=&view=&sb=5&o=&fpart=all&vc=1) should be added to the links section, has an important...

I think this play might be a bit rough around the edges

I've had to table hop a lot to keep finding the loose tables, so I had only been at this table for 15 hands or so, in those hands villain has been fairly loose(40ish vpip) and passive. Sample size...

Re: Am I weak tight now or am I finally learning??

The pot is small, you're facing a bet and a raise with a vulnerable hand which may or may not be good right now and it would be hard to tell when you get drawn out on. I'd think about hanging onto...

Re: A very bad fold?

I disagree on the turn fold unimproved, I think he still has the odds to keep drawing to see the river, he would be offered 13.5 to 1 on a turn call if he check called that flop, still enough to keep...
