Re: AJo......Stage 1 of play along

In my opinion this is not a case of waiting until the turn to raise to protect my hand. I believe the real question lies in how often are we ahead given a reasonable( ie. Average) small blind. If...

Re: AJo......Stage 1 of play along

Yes a set is very unlikely. but it is one of the few hands amd average SB will have when Check-raising 4 people on the flop.

Re: AJo......Stage 1 of play along

Since we have zero information on the small blind we must assume he acts in a way consistant with your average 2/4 player, which is to say a CR on this flop means straight, set, two pair, or flush...

Re: AJo......Stage 1 of play along

I'm not sure of this Harv, but how often to you think we need to be ahead to 3-bet here. Should we be 3-betting even if we think we might be behind here? The only hand the SD reasonably...

Re: AJo......Stage 1 of play along

The SB will generally NOT lead the turn if hes on the flush draw and misses. If the SB bets out a diamond turn I think we're probably behind and should NOT raise. At this point he probably has the...

Re: AJo......Stage 1 of play along

An unknown SB has a few hands here, some possiblities are AQ or AJ(less likely since you hold one of each), KT for the flopped straight, a set, or a flush draw.

AQ is a decent possibility...

Re: blind stealing with suited connectors

I have no peoblem stealing blinds with Middle suited connectors. Especially with blinds that are either tight, weak or predictable.

If the blinds are folding enough, gettting 3-bet sometimes isn't...

Have I gotten weak? TT UTG

It been awhile since I posted a hand, moved recently and the holidays were crazy. Anyway some background, Villian is 25/4/1 over 25 hands, nothing out of the ordinary. Background on me, been...

Re: River donkbet on scare card

I think you're ahead here ALOT given the discription of this player. If the river card beat you you would have been checkraised on the turn(ie. KJ or TT). JJ or KK probably would have been raised...

Re: River value raise.

You can raise here if your ahead 55% of the time he CALLS. Most likely he has a spade and you'll lose, sometimes he'll be bluffing and fold, and rarely he'll call with a lesser one or two pair hand....

Re: Hypothetical protect hand question: raise, cold call or fold?

At a typical passive low limit table I'd 3-bet here and take the free card on the turn about 100% of the time. They won't be folding, no reason to put money in on the turn if you don't have too.

Re: Why do 2+2ers raise the flop with middle pair?

This is generally worse on drawless boards as the bettor more likely has you beaten. In the example given A95 two flush, the bettor is more likely to be betting a draw then on a K83 rainbow flop. ...

Re: 88 Turn Raise

Pre-flop is borderline, I fold this generally unless I can expect more ColdCallers behind or very loose blinds. Flop is good, I'd fold the turn. You're very slightly ahead or way behind. You can't...

Re: PF raise with QJs?

I think this is a pretty good hand all around. The small blind's flop CR sucked, but that's not gonna happen THAT often. The river action is sick...

Re: PF raise with QJs?

Raise about any two in this situation, even if the SB calls you're in good position. You're getting 2.5-1 on the raise, 4.5-1 or 5-1 on the flop bet, and sometimes you'll just make the best hand and...

Re: Massive 5-10 pot (QTo)

Did you seriously fold top two on this river? 26-1????

Your probably beat by MP4, but you're telling me he doesn't have a smaller(or same) two pair 4% or the time?

Re: Should be standard...

For better or worse I'd raise here, expecting a weak ace to cold call two somewhere in early position, spike a 9 on the turn and lose to the flush draw by by seat 6.

But seriously my standard here...

Re: I Don\'t Know Enough to be a Winning Player (QUIZ)

At a tight agressive game with decent players, one pro, one LAG and one Weak-tight player, folding AJo UTG is probably the correct play.

Re: I Don\'t Know Enough to be a Winning Player (QUIZ)

a 92,

I think a few of the explainations are questionable.

For example the flat call with the Royal draw?

Folding Jacks with a bettor and caller?

Flat calling the river with the nut...

Re: God, I wanted to slowplay...but it IS Party 2/4....

Another thing to note is that a raise on the flop looks more like top pair then a set and most people will think their overcards are good if they hit(which I believe happened when the SB hit the ace).
